So many threads sharing random AliExpress coupon codes.
These codes are available everywhere on the internet, they’re not specifically related to lights, and they don’t seem to contribute anything useful to the community.
In my opinion, this kind of content is just spam and makes it harder to find real discussions or helpful information.
Why are these posts allowed here?
What are your thoughts on them?
I’m happy with one or two threads as it saves me rooting around the internet, however this “sale season” there seems to be an intolerable number of them…
One user posted 4 of them:
I just flagged 3 of them as Spam.
If multiple people do that, those 3 posts will be hidden.
I’ve started to mute them myself as I come across them. Not opposed to having something like that around, just tired of seeing them in the feed all the time.
Just discovered the ignore option, going to do that instead.
I have reached a point that I am aware of the fact that I am no longer interested in buying all the new state of the art flashlights. Because most of them are like yesterdays news: tomorrow it’s old news. Almost every day there is a new kid on the block that’s more powerful etc. I now concentrate myself to the golden oldies, the classics I could not afford at the time they were “hot”. And that I do mostly in classified ads sites.
In the rare case I need to buy something from Ali, I’ll just go for the first OP with coupons and forget about the rest. All of them are like identical twins to me but that does not bother me. I just don’t care.
I find them useful when shopping on AliExpress- it’s often saved me some money buying flashlights (or other items.) They’re easy enough to bypass as the subject tells you what the thread is.
If you’re bringing that up- why are knives regularly posted e.g. often in the “What you got today” thread?
I dont like them at all… It IS some type of spam… Some time ago there was a discussion about referrals.. and those Aliexpress coupons threads include referrals …
I think that all AliExpress coupon deals should be in one thread–not in a bunch of different threads.
Of course, that would require moderation, and I’m not in charge of that.
