It really depends on the quality, size, and where you are buying it from. The small ones tend to be cheaper though.
The reason is same why crappy Ford with 3.0L petrol engine costs $10k while a nice BMW with same 3.0L petrol engine can cost $30k and more.
Build quality, mostly.
I never know BMW is so cheap in the states. In my crappy country Singapore, it costs at least 180k USD

I’m talking about Europe, and low-end BMW’s (such as 330i). High end ones (7-series in particular) can’t be compared to various Fords, that’s just as pointless as comparing them to R/C toy cars.
Not always. A lot of eBay sellers rape people on some lights, or try to anyway. Along with some online stores… If your talking about reliable online sources that actually know their lights… Then yeah, build quality and functions are the difference.
Correct...a Ford GT would destroy anything made by BMW, and I tune BMWs.

I had a BMW 325i given to me once, it was the worst car I’ve ever owned, yeah, the six cylinder was nice, but the rest of the car was worse than an 80’s ford escort.
Ford gt's suck I had one and it broke down all the time .:P

Well for the OP, i have a few lights from different sources and some cylinder types. Cheaper ones sometimes have sharp edges in the head or tail, some thorn or loose orings, weak drivers with no memory, body and head not matching in color or pattern, and most probably an erroneous switch. They can of course work without much problems but still some stop working after they heat for a while or may not heat at all due to a floating emitter.
More expensive ones usually have a HAII or HAIII coating, an anti reflective lens and a better driver with well separated modes.
When my friend told me how much he’d had to pay to register his basic KIA over there I almost fell of my seat. Just the registration cost more than the car would over here in the UK. Mind you when you look at the neighbours you can see why Singapore gets a bit dictatorial. Compared to the rest of Asia it actually has some structure to it and most of the motorists didn’t want to kill me, a nice change from Thailand!
