I know there are always many posts like these but I need help as a complete newcomer to flashlight for a nice even wide beam light. I bought an Olight i5T EOS 6 months ago on a whim because I didn’t like having to use my phone light all the time. I like the beam it has, no defined hotspot. I recently purchased a Sofrin SC33 but don’t care for the weird pentagon shape the beam gets. I’m curious about the Wurkkos TD04, looks like what I’m after in regards to a wider beam but hard to tell based of videos alone. Any other recommendations? I don’t need a magnetic tailcap.

What you probably want is a flashlight with a very floody emitter.
Personally, I prefer somewhat throwy emitters, so I don’t know much about very floody emitters.

You might want an XHP70.3 HD emitter, though the XHP70.3 HI emitter is more popular (and is throwier).

Was going to suggest exactly same thing for the OPs Sofirn SC33.
FYI OP, this stuff is sold as self adhesive privacy window film, a popular brand is DC-Fix, it comes in a couple of different textures, I forget what the most commonly used one is, “Sand”?
Just understand the wider the main beam is the more throw you will give up.
Based on the two lights that you mentioned I assume you want to go with a tube style 21700.
I would recommend you look at the convoy s21e.

Pick your body color.
Pick your LED. Probably a 519a either 3000k or4000k.
Constant current or Anduril 1
Choose Anduril and you can get the lighted switch so it’s easy to find.
Choose the Eve 50e or 58e battery.
And then “customize” by picking [replace the reflector with 25° bead TIR or go all the way up to 60° bead TIR.
That last step of customizing is going to significantly determine how wide that beam is.
Nobody here can really understand what you mean by wide.
There are other choices also if you will consider a larger head. Such as the m21h.
Probably something with a 5000mah battery. Using it for outside stuff mostly. Maybe some indoors. I noticed with the Sofrin SC33 it has a bunch of rings on the beam. Light the dark then light again.
Unno. For these windows I wanted frosted, I got a bunch of films with vipons. Think the brand was Coavas or something.
“Snow” has a huge pattern. Looks great on windows, but makes a shiite beam using the film on a light.
Think “Sand” was one of the ones I got. Nice small grain, even dispersion. Whatever I didn’t use, I was going slap-happy sticking it on every light I could find that wasn’t a dedicated thrower.
Goggled it, yeh, Coavas and actual DCFix, and “Milky” was another nice one I got.

I can fix the beam of any light ever made in 30 seconds for pennies. You can buy a new light and keep trying to figure out what you’re doing wrong or just solve the problem.
I’ve been selling smaller sheets of diffusion film on this and other forums for 10 + years now . I have a variety of different grades of diffusion from full flood…a lighter diffusion leaving a slight hot spot …..and a film made for throwers that cleans up artifacts while still delivering throw . It’s cheap as hell and shipped worldwide . A 3x6” sheetat $1.50 will diffuse 40 Convoy s2+ flashlights . That works out to less than 4 cents per light .
Any other suggestion is just stupid . I am without a doubt the absolute best option you’ll ever find when it comes to diffusion or filters to get rid of nasty green tints.

Well, you can certainly lessen or eliminate artifacts, and you can make any light floodier to varying degrees. You can’t make them any throwier, though, so whether what you sell fixes a beam or not depends on one’s goals. Is that fair to say?

Could you send me a product/price list. I tried a message a while back but it may have gotten lost.
Temporary like, you can cut a circle of wax paper and slightly wet it and it will usually stick to the lens.
It is milky and kills output for sure but gives instant flood.
Boaz is your best bet for real fix, get some from him and be happy
