Lux-Perpetua,

glad to see you chime in! At first I was selfish in my concern for you backing out of this gb, but then I realized that was pretty shallow of me and I became more concerned that you weren't able to be contacted easily.

either way, without prying into your personal matters, I'm very glad to hear your response, and I hope all is well brother!

No need to worry, Artiet59. Actually, I was thinking to back off entirely and for good, having some "relaunch" in my hobbies. I had to take a short break to think things over. For now, I have changed my mind. That's why I had turned off PM functionality temporarily. It is restored now. WildTrail has got some more new things comin' soon where they could use my support. I will not let them down. Apologies if my post has stirred up the community.

I did not read every post yet, just saw you mentioned the big bill of your vet doctor. I cross my fingers that your pet will get better soon. It's tearing one apart to see a pet being in pain and agony. A few years ago my parents had to to call the vet to release their dogs from painful cancer. Every once in while I ask them to have some new pets to uplift their minds. But it seems they will never ever have the heart to lose one more pet.

Well look what just got delivered!

I am very happy with the 3*21700 setup, since the tube size is almost identical to the BLF GT which is absolutely the maxiumum i want to hold and would be comfortable to carry.
It already is on the large size (i definitely wouldnt be happy with anything that has a larger diameter)
here it is with the Convoy 4*18A tube (4x18650 cells) on top

I figured they would start showing up any day now!

Damn, that o-ring is the size of a hula hoop.

thank you LP, for the we wishes of my cat. His name is Oliver and he is doing, well.. ok, we are waiting for blood work and scans results to come back. We dropped $800 and not even a surgery, but to sedate him because he wasn't very pleased with all the commotion at the vet and was being erratic. She hasn't really been eating except a little last night finally, which has been 2 days. Been drinking water though. We have two other cats almost a year old as well. And when we're done with the three we have now no more I don't believe. Like your parents. It's too hard to lose them.

glad to see your still here and not going anywhere! And thanks for the response and well wishes. I really appreciate everything you help with and do around here. Hope it goes well

Jaloeeeerrss!!!
More pics please.

Is that the Maxtoch LEP in the background?

Yes it is, it throws as hell
(but its quite long and the build quality is not what i expected for such an expensive light. If you want it, I’m willing to let it go)

I’m having some trouble posting images on my phone, so heres the album, i’ll change it when im on PC.

Theres a small spot on the reflector and the focus is not 100%, but that should be no problem to focus.
For the rest, its an awesome light, build quality is amazingly good, definitely worth the (group buy) price

No, I’m ok, I have a Neal’s thrower and that is all the LEP fun that I need for the moment. For a big LEP thrower I wait and hope for LEP units in the future with more light than the currently typical 500 lumen.

it looks pretty sweet, unfortunate about that spot on the reflector but in my experience the effect shouldn't be too negative, correct?

also, how will you focus the reflector, raise / lower the reflector from the mcpcb?

Sorry, i should have mentioned that it’s not centered 100%, the focus seems to be good.

Mine will be here tomorrow!

Received my silver a few minutes ago.

Thanks Texas_Ace

Last night I was picturing a 4 square emitters LEP…

So Im Sure many of you saw, but it looks like vapcell t50's are available again.. but unfortunately I'm in no rush to buy them @ $17+ a piece. Yikes. Really can't see how to justify that over molicel P42a for under $10 or even 40t for $10...

maybe Tom E can chime in, as I know he has some and he has used them in the wt90? Are they worth the extra cost? That's about $50 for the three needed for this light.

∆∆∆

I agree. That’s outrageous. I got my p42 A’s for $6.99 When Liionwholesale gets back in stock…in the next week or so, they should be $5.86 again or ever so slightly higher. Basically three times cheaper than the rip off T50.

See my post # 330 page 11 on this thread. Direct info. From Jon, owner of Liionwholesale. This is why MOLICEL is the way to go because they are not going up, or very little at this point while others will continue to rise.

I agree, I really do. I mean I understand the expense involved for these companies and with limited stock keeping prices down is tough, so I'm hesitant to bash on companies like Samsung, vapcell, even distributors I like like 18650vatterystore for raising prices. But I think it just goes to show Molicel is pretty much king right now for best bang for buck, overall value, and performance. I've been getting p28a 18650's in and they are performing awesome, very fresh battery. Molicel perform great in all their offerings That I have experienced

There it is. I will do measurements later, but I have some thoughts.

  • This is serious sized flashlight, the first in this size class for me. It is about the same size as the TN42, but I do not own one to compare. It is certainly more convenient than the BLF GT, smaller, more lightweight, with similar performance. But still too large to put in my coat pocket, you need a bag to carry this around, or a strap (but there is no attachment point at the front end of the light, maybe you can do something with thin paracord between the fins).
  • Wow that reflector! 88mm effective diameter and about just as deep. Very smooth finish. The hotspot is not completely evenly illuminated but that is just while whitewallhunting. If it indeed does around the 1Mcd it is perfectly fine.
  • Love the battery carrier, they really put some good thought in that. Although I do prefer a (well executed) USB-port on the outside of the flashlight, this is still nicely done and charging works well enough.
  • It is BLF-approved: simple but good construction, good heat path and nice finning, no glue and everything accessable.
  • This is not the ultimate impress-your-friends flashlight. There are flashlights now that are smaller and have more throw (LEP flashlights), and there are flashlights that are smaller and emit more light. But the combination of continuous large output, impressive throw and runtime makes it a performer. I’m sure that if this light used for what it should be used: i.e. extended searches in situations that require illumination far away, there is not much that can beat it, certainly not for the price.
  • This light needs a handle, and I’m going to make one.

Glad to see they are starting to show up!

Thanks for the review Djozz.

Oh, and I have my thoughts about adding a biblical reference on the driver, very american, and no biggie, but expressing my opinion on that is not allowed.
