The belt is finished now. Did not turn out as I expected, but it is done. If anyone has a size 28 waist and wants to buy it, PM me, LOL. I ain't kiddin'.
We used 550 cord in the Marine Core all the time for all kinds of stuff. A belt of that stuff will last you a decade. That shit is tough. If we ran out of flex cuffs in the field taking prisoners/surrenderees. I’d actually tie terrorist hands together with 550 cord
Wasn’t until I went on my first deployment that I realized the true strength of zip ties. Some people can escape handcuffs. I’ve seen it. I’ve never seen one person ever get free from a zip tie or 550 cord
I think this is a great idea. A belt made out of paracord. Well, I guess if it was long enough you could tow a car with it too. Love paracord! I’m sitting on about 10 fresh hanks of the stuff and haven’t started anything yet. Maybe I’ll make a belt!!! Hoooyah!!
On a side note, anyone know where to get reasonably priced beads for lanyards? All the ones I see are in the 20 to 50 dollar arena.

To get ones that fit onto 550 cord, look for "European beads" everywhere you go. They are usually made with a 5mm hole, so they go on Paracord. Lots of them on ebay and amazon, but cheaper at Chinese sites, naturally.
