Awesome
My first smart watch, Samsung Gear S3 frontier. Apparently no longer compatible with newer phones 2024 and up which blows. Turns me off of smartwatches since I dont even utilize it properly (tap and pay). It has a white screen that acts as a flashlight so I guess there’s that if I had absolutely no other light on me even a phone.
Funny, just noticed some dead pixels when using the “flashlight”
My main edc watch is the casio Pathfinder titanium band. Close to 15 years now and still on original battery.
I’m inclined to believe that if you were ever formally dressed, I’d die from your looks alone.
I bought four tiny screws for my Casio G-Shock GBD-200 for about $6
I also bought five 2032 button cells for my watch for about $4
I believe that the reason that the screws are so expensive is because they’re proprietary and the button cells are not. ![]()
My latest build
36mm case
NH 35 automatic movement
Genuine Malachite Stone Dial…thin lamination on brass base, very delicate, little nervous during assembly.
It like most of my others is in a regular rotation on the daily. This one does hit the wrist a bit more often recently though.
Nice! I often wonder, though…how do people wear the watches cinched so tightly, and so far up the wrist that the knobs dig into the back of one’s hand?
For my watch, I use the vibration function because I frequently wear headphones and cannot hear my watch’s alarm.
The vibration isn’t all that strong, but what helps me notice the vibration is having my watchband on my wrist pretty tightly. ![]()
I don’t know. I have seen some outrageously tight watches recently. I like mine snug but it has to remain mobile on my wrist, just not so loose that it will flip around to the underside of my wrist, or be sloppy. My shot looks tight because of the position of my hand with wrist cocked away from the camera. I can actually get the majority of my other hand’s pinky finger beneath most bands when securely latched and comfortable. Never really had a problem with “crown stab” unless the watch was so loose as to bind between my hand and wrist because it ended up past my wrist and on my hand.
I see…my wrists swell (and sweat) substantially under strenuous labor or exercise, so I have to wear about half a link loose. Even then, the link/case gets super grippy and rather snug. It’s tough finding a bracelet or strap that adapts nicely to the above conditions…
I catch myself looking at my wrist sometimes and thinking “geez, that looks too tight!” but the watch slides around easily.
I dunno. Maybe I’ve just got it situated in some skinny spot on my wrist or something.

I have a hard time wearing watches with a metal bracelet for this reason. My hand/ wrist changes size just enough through the day that my watch will be uncomfortably tight at one point, and unwearably sloppy at another point. They just don’t have enough adjustment that can be done easily on the spot. I can tolerate it for short periods, but not for daily wear.
Get yourself a ratcheting clasp!

And back again as needed, all on the fly & one-handed.
Interesting. I’m not a huge watch guy, so I’ve never seen those before. It seems like that would do the trick.
It’s handy on hot, or just fat, days…
Hmmm…I wonder if it comes in Ti…
