WTB - Headlamp

I am looking to buy a headlamp that will stand up to some abuse. I plan to use this for GoRucks and Spartan Beast/Ultra Beasts. Most of the time it will be in my ruck so it’ll be semi protected (may get wet/banged around a little) BUT when it is in use it will for sure get wet and smacked around. Looking for something tough that can last a good while (12h on a 18650 at a decent output/enough for me to see while rucking through the whole night)

H600 seems like a reasonable starting point but I really dont follow headlamps so let me know what you got.

Thanks

My H600 was excellent until it got water ingress after first 1ft deep submersion. Salt water got in from the bezel ring and damaged my reflector… Zebralight refused to service my light under warranty and asked $30 + shipping to china for repair costs.

But during the time it worked it was flawless, I have some friends working in a car shop and they all have ZL headlamps, they are often washed after being covered in grease and have been working great for like 2 years now.

Now I have a Xtar H3, same as bright as a ZL and feels well built too, but mode spacing is horrendous: medium, high, higher, highest… Can’t hardly notice the difference in the last 3 modes. I wouldn’t take it for any outdoors activity requiring extended runtime.

Kyhunter was selling a few modded headlamps.

Maybe nitecore hc50, pretty sturdy made.

The Fenix HL55 gives 165 lumens for 10 hours on a 18650 battery, and has a IPX6 rating.

The HL50 uses a single CR123A (or a AA), and gives 60 lumens for 9 hours 45 minutes, and a IPX8 waterproof rating.

There are other Fenix headlamps that give 9 to 12 hours at decent lumens and good waterproof ratings.

I’ve been using a hc50 for a year now, pretty nice light. I’ve banged it around a lot. It’s usually just tossed in my work bag.

A Nice feature that it has for long outings is that the light has a built in voltage indicator so you can see how much juice you have left.

I have never had a problem with my Skilhunt but I can say that the HC50 is tank and can take abuse

Happy with my H3 warboy.
