I’m looking for a 1D Maglite, hopefully a fully cut-down one that uses a tailswitch. I’ve been gradually replacing my stolen collection and some of these last things are hard to find.
I had a Camo one, but any color is good and fins or other work is good. If anyone would let one go let me know!
Or if anyone still does Maglites or wants to that would be great.
How are you thinking a 1D Maglite should perform? As a moderate output single or a respectable quad or what?

Aluminum heat sink in this one as my friend complained about the weight of copper THEN decided he wanted to keep it after all.
The copper pill that was complained about.
Either and/or. I’ve had a nice quad and have a heavy copper one similar to that, but it’s in a 2D. A different driver would work to make it run on a 26650. I would buy a complete light or host. Preferably a complete working light

There wasn’t a factory one. They are cut down on a lathe and re threaded.
Wayne (ChicagoX) developed a smooth chop where he would reverse the battery tube, cut off the tail cap threads at a measured point (to center the knurling area in the target length) rethread for the head to screw on then cut off the now tail end and rethread for the tail cap. The tail cap is bored to allow a 32650 to seat inside it and a switch is installed in the tail cap (Omten usually)
A nice semi-press fit heat sink in the emitter end allows a triple or quad to be used in the 50mm variants. I found the MCPCB and reflector from a Q8 work beautifully.
The heat sink acts as a light engine, housing a Bistro driver in FET+1 configuration.
By the time all the parts are gathered there’s something like $75 on the table, then the time at the lathe after careful measuring and double checking. Nice light in the end, compact chunky handful.
Hoop actually has some VERY well planned ideas based on Maglights. For an epic light I’d reach out to him. CNC machined perfection.
