Now I know the forum is free and stuff but seriously guys, don’t you see too many ads?? I just did a basic search and I literally got raped by ads on my screen!
I don't get a single ad (I'm using AdBlock+ on Firefox).

Decent chunk of ads on mobile, I just got used to it after a few searches.
You answered your own question. The site is free to us. Its not free for the admins. And if they in the end make a buck, or get some goods, good luck to them.
I highly doubt the site is raking in the cash so they can live the high life.
At least here you are free to say whatever you want about the companies that appear in those ads. Go to one of those other sites and say something disparaging about one of their advertisers. On a good day your comments will just get stealth-deleted, and on a bad day, well…

Yeah and I think this is because the search is probably powered by Google, which of course pays for its “free” service by showing you lots of extra ads, and sites that pay them listed at the top, just like its regular searches, but more than you see for regular content here. Its annoying, but part of life really now days, the alternative is paying a membership here, I choose to just move on or look away.
Sorry about that. In my location there are very few targeted Google ads, so I’ve never seen that many on the search page. Here’s what mine looks like:
Unfortunately, I can’t disable or control the ads that Google puts on the search results. And the Google Custom Search Engine that we offer here is far, far faster and more accurate than the one that this forum software provides, so in my opinion it’s worth it. Even so, my apologies. I don’t mean to attack users with ads.

I am ok with these once they do not flash and pop up. 
If you’ve broke your government’s control over your mobile phone (i.e. root), you can install adaway from F-droid. Works best with root tho, as it runs all data thru it as a proxy.
Will break MMS (on a Samsung phone at least), YouTube app (just use proxfree.com), and is generally buggy on updates but is better than adblock+.
For all others, adblock+ plus peer block = nary one single ad
Looks like google has something to say about ‘aa charger’. Try another search (‘stuff and things’), and I think you’ll find much less real estate taken. Guess you hit it unlucky.
Its because of those ads that I found Illumination Gear, Fasttech, E2 Fieldgear, Banggood and such websites. When I was new to all of this, ( I still am ) found it very usefull.
Also server and bandwidth costs aren’t cheap, someone has to pay for them. Since we are not them advertisers help do that.
So I a way I am not really bothered that much by the ads. I do underestand it might annoy people.
I agree, but maybe this forum can take dinations to make it ad free like some others?
@sb56637/others: I am not complaining about the ads. The overload of ads was a bit weird. The google search is very powerful as you mentioned. I should look at ways to block some of this ad overload
On another note, continue your good work and thanks for providing a free forum with free speech!
I nuked anything that takes space. Logos, elements, ads.
Adblock + element hider
The ads makes me sort of feel at home.
The paying adds are the companies I regularly buy stuff from. The google targeting adds are always the same bunch of uninteresting sites that miss the target completely, I find it comforting that google's advertisement targeting software is still in a prehistoric phase.
Firefox or Chrome/Iron with adblock plus.
As Adblock Plus have an option (that can be deactivated) that let pass some ads, the purist use adblock edge (only for firefox).
At least BLF don’t detect the presence of adblocker.
Try it on Yahoo for example, you’ll see the change.

Na, seriously, I hope the admins of this or any site get RICH!!! Including those I don’t like! 0:) We all dream of making money at home. Not everyone is lucky like me and has a Nigerian Prince for a great great great cousin! I also made $415,000 last month from my house with just a computer and the typing skills of a 5 year old!!
I click on a ton of ads on the sites I like just to help the folks out. I now sounds stupid, but hey I am stupid ya know! Not to mention, it really must throw off the NSA when they try and follow me. J) I google lithium batteries and copper tube (flashlights), buy all that junk from china, I am sure I pop up on some guys screen.
