Wurkkos HD01 w UV, First Impressions

Fun little multi use light

The Front cool white beam is bright and throwy.

The side beam has a nice floody High CRI White output,

plus multi colored LEDs, this is Red (camera does not do it justice)

The UV seems powerful and a good spectrum for checking currency.

The Red band on the US100 only shows w 365nm, it does not show with 395nm, the green band on the US20 shows up brightly:

With built in charging, that illuminates around the buttons in Red while charging, and change to Green when finished. The light also works while plugged in:

There is a secure 2 way pocket clip that works on both a pocket and a hat brim.

This is a handly little multi function light. It weighs just 94 grams, LiPo battery included. (same battery type as my iPhone, not user replaceable).

The UV function is helping me track down places where my old cat has had accidents that I need to clean better:

The tailmagnet works very well, strong enough to hold the light securely on my refrigerator:

The controls are easy to use and easy to understand, and the form factor is compact and easy to handle. I received this light from Wurkkos as a Review Sample, for which I am very grateful.

In direct comparison with my various Skilhunt flashlights and the JETBeam E26, the HD01 has the brightest UV light. I wonder how hard they drive the UV LED.

Thank you for the review.
It looks nice that UV works well.

I want this kinda light with removable battery

thanks for sharing your experience w other UV lights… I agree the HD01 UV is very bright, it works very well.

I hope you find what youre looking for. Meanwhile, The HD01 is an inexpensive option, that works well, as is.

My 7 year old iPhone does not have a removable battery either… and it still works.

Quick question for you; does lockout mode also lock the laser from activating, or just the lights?

Watched a couple videos lately and no one mentions one way or the other. :person_shrugging:

I do not have the HD01 w Green Laser, mine is the HD01 with UV.

Yes Lockout disables the UV, my guess is the same would be true for the Laser model.

I have an HD01 with laser. Lockout does indeed lock all emitters, including the laser.

Thanks for your review.
I’m ordering a Green HD01 with green laser, because I don’t feel the need for a UV light but kinda interested to the laser pointer.
This will be my first non-tube light.

Hi jon_slider, your “Yes UV” picture looks like a silhouette of jumping/flying cat  :heart_eyes_cat:

LOL,
I see what you mean :heart_eyes_cat:

I hope you find the laser useful

Hey, have you by any chance looked at how you’d take one of these apart for an emitter swap?

I think lasers should be illegal in things like this, definitely not getting one, too dangerous with any accidental activation… And the concetrated UV like this gives me a screaming eye/headache…

But I like the rest of the concept overall, and love flat lights!

So it occurs to me an emmiter swap on the UV version, change the UV to something around 2700 or 3000k could be cool!

I did remove the pocket clip, and that let me remove the tailcap. The battery is glued in, so I put it back together and consider the light Not Modifyable.
