I have to admit: I had mixed feelings about this one when I first saw the prototype. The unorthodox tube looked neat, and the rotary selector + tail switch combo seemed perfect, but the side light felt a bit gimmicky. There are so many side/COB lights on the market; why try and force one into a traditional tube?
Well, I’m happy to say I was wrong.
While this is a really nice tac-style tube light on its own, the side light adds so much more – and it does so without requiring additional space or design considerations. The side light is much brighter than I was anticipating, and it just sits in a nook on the bezel, out of your way until you need it.
The T1’s main light features a CREE XFLSNA (6000K-6500K). There isn’t a lot of info on this yet, and it’s the first time we’ve seen it in a Wurkkos model. But I do like it. The emitter is similar to the LHP73B in both appearance (16 squares) and beam (throwy flooder w/faint hotspot).
The rotary lets you choose from 4 modes: lockout, side, outdoor, TAC. The side light has 4 different colors (w/3 levels each), plus 3 blinkies. The main light has 6 levels, ranging from 4 to 5500 lumens. I’ve mostly used the medium (~700 lm) and high (~2250 lm) modes so far. Turbo (5500 lm) lasts about a minute before stepping down to 800 lm. But there isn’t a huge discernible difference between turbo and high, and high lasts about 17 min. I’ve mostly been using medium and high so far.
A light with this many functions does require a complex UI. But the execution is ideal based on the parameters. If you’ve used Wurkkos or Sofirn, a lot of it will feel familiar. The new UI element, which I very much like, is a soft press with 1-sec hold to change colors on the side light. A quick soft press then lets you cycle through levels.

I’m enjoying the T1 so far. It’s a solid multipurpose tac-style budget light.
