I just ordered the TS28 and I have read a couple of reviews. However I would like to hear from anyone who has the light and what their thoughts are so far. Good, bad or indifferent.
I received it 2 days ago and I like it, nice beam pattern with decent reach. What I don’t like is that the lowest low is not that low as some reviewers commented, The tint of mine was good (Not amazing but good) but overall I like it, will go into car duty.
Thanks for the reply. I’m not picky about the low settings. I got it for the long beam. I have other lights with longer beams and I live on a farm with wide open spaces. I need a long beam to make sure no one is hunting on our land.
I like it. I own the Wurkkos FC11C, TS22, TS23 and now the TS28. I just wish the feature found in the TS22 of allowing the side-switch to slowly blink or not, while in lock-out mode was carried through into the TS28, but it was not. On the TS28, the side-switch remains not lit when the light is locked out.
The beam throws nicely, with plenty of useable side spill. I’ve not yet used its reverse charging capability yet. I do which the side-switch was recessed. For that matter, it would have been nice if it was even flush with the body, rather than protruding like it does.
Hope that helps.
That helps a lot. I have the FC11C & the TS23 but not the 22. You mentioned the button not being flush but for me, I don’t have a problem with it. I sometimes wonder if I should pay attention to those kinds of details. Because it seems like a lot of people do. For me, I just want to make sure that the UI works the way it’s supposed to and the beam is long and clean. I feel like an outsider when I read the reviews and comments.
Mine will be here tomorrow and Monday I should receive my Convoy L21A. I know the L21B is lighter but I like the look of the heat sink fins on the L21A.
Let’s us know your thoughts when you get them.
Will do.
I got my TS28 and I really like it. It’s a very simple UI and it takes no time to figure out. It has a really nice beam that reaches a long way, at least long enough for me. Overall I’m very impressed and happy with the light.
I also got my Convoy L21A with the SFT40 emitter and I love it. It has a long clean beam and the hot spot is a little wider than I expected but that’s just fine. I got the 12 group UI and I have set on 10 w/memory. The 21700 battery adds a little weight to it, which I actually appreciate. I ran it on the highest output for about 90 seconds and the heat sink fins did a great job of keeping it cool. I definitely can recommend this light for whatever you want.
I also have an Olight baton turbo coming in today. This is my first non Keychain/clip Olight flashlight. It says that it can run on non olight batteries but I’m not sure how you insert the non olight 18350 battery. Because the olight battery goes in backwards because of its design. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.
What it needs is a warmer tint because 6500K is not for everyone.
I have read that on several reviews. I must be the only person who prefers 6500k. However I do appreciate 4000k. What I use my lights for, other than emergencies, the 6500k is perfect.
I have noticed from reviews and comments on this board is, that I find what I like in a flashlight to be different than most of the people who comment on any flashlight.
Luminus emitters commonly come in 5000K as well but SFT-70 gen 2 is brand new and it’s not available in lower CCTs yet. I’m wondering how would beam profile look like with larger emitter like XHP50.3 HI because even with SFT-70 there’s a pretty large corona which usually indicates sub-optimal focus so different LED may create a donut hole-style hotspot or something.
You have much more knowledge about the emitters than I do. I can’t even think of a single thing that I can say.
I have read about the emitters you are talking about and I have several lights with the SFT40 and one with the 70.2. I understand the basics but I have mainly relied on someone else’s advice for which one to choose.
