That is too much charge for lots of cells. Including the Lishen HP (???) cell at only 3 Ah capacity.
I saw 12 volts at about 1.6 amps on the low charge setting (the only one I can use on my light). Which is fine with me… Other than I know it is not the way it is supposed to work. (which is an aggravation).
I am more curious as to why only the one cable that I have, and I tried at least 6, (along with half a dozen USB chargers) will allow me to USB C to USB C charge the damn thing… Ah, the mysteries of modern electronics.
If it is super annoying to you, then maybe duplicate my setup. This is the DJI power supply I am using for sale on eBay here. I use it with a no name cable and got all 3 colors, albeit the wattage is the same for all 3 colors, around 18-20 watts. But, I know, it’s modern electronics so can’t guarantee this setup will work with your Valkyrie!
I only have measured outputs using Texas Ace lumen tube. You seem to have so many lights so I would recommend it. It’s a lot of fun. The calibrated outputs appear to match reviewers’ numbers closely enough and instill confidence when I compare batteries and lights.
Thanks. I see why you can’t get more than 18 watts… that is all the supply can do.
I found a couple of QC2 and 3 supplies that will charge it at ~18 watts. USB A to C.
I am fine on this. In reality, I seldom charge cells in lights anyway. As usual, I just look for things to work the way they are intended to. Again, I was just curious about why only the newest 100 watt rated cable that I have allows C to C charging. While none of my other cables do. Too many years doing engineering work I guess.
I am afraid my light is just broken.
I have thought long and hard about getting a TA tube setup. It is all about cost… and worse, finding a place to store and use it. Maybe one day. Even with that, It would be nice to figure a good way to measure current draw.
Necro bump. 61 bucks for a SBT90.2 super thrower is pretty good. Likely the lowest price possible for a light with this LED. There are throwers, and there are throwers w/ 5000 lm .
I have one SBT90.2 light (the Firefly T9R, got it in FFL’s ‘clearance sale’ a couple of weeks ago for $74) and it’s the closest thing to a light saber that I have seen in person. With it I can clearly illuminate the peaks of the nearest hills over 600m away, so that’s useable illumination and not just some abstract math done with candelas. Recommended, and kudos to Wurkkos for offering the TS30Pro at that fantastic price!
Congrats. I too had seen the big discount, wasn’t sure since I already have both TS30S and Pro, changed my mind a week ago because of that Lume1 High-Efficiency 6A Constant Current Buck Driver and the build quality, and by then it has sold out. Now I’m kicking myself for hesitating.
These guys are flying high, but somewhat annoying because they seem to make batches of lights in smaller quantity and on-sale stuffs get sold out.
What about the FFL909MX? It seems to be brighter, throwier and cheaper, that might be a contender to the SBT90.2. FireFlyLite’s claimes are pretty accurate from what I have seen.
Oh you’re such “bad” influence! Bad as in good lol. Hmm let me look up reviews. $59 for a big Firefly with Lume driver seems like a great deal. I really want that host with the Lume driver.
And yes, they have been very good with their claims of parameters such as output and throw. Very good as in spot-on and sometimes underestimate, probably because I have PB45B and Mystery Lishen batteries and they don’t. JK
Very interesting - looks like SBT90.2 clone, but at 6500k instead of 5700k of SBT90.2. I may still pull the trigger because I don’t think there is anything greener than my SBT90.2 lights, and I still love them.
“it actually have a green tint, and is green on low, as Jack stated already, that this batch of ffl909mx is green tint, and recommended to get sbt90.2 for new E90 (as Jack sbt90.2 are under BBL), at least for now.”
Damn… that red. I’m in trouble. For anyone interested but do not have it yet, SBT90.2 is a flashlight-life changing emitter . A true “super” thrower with both output and throw.
“-Emitter: Luminous STB90.2 5700K CW -Driver: Lume1 6A + FET high efficiency buck driver -Max output 5500lms, 900m, 200 000cd -RGB Aux light under optics -Battery: 1x 21700 -With high efficient 12 degree TIR Optics -With Firefly patented magnetic charging port -Strong removeable magnets on tail
-Size: 126mm length x 54.5mm head dia x 26.5mm body dia -Netweight: 185 gram”
From Firefly chat: “T9R w/ SBT90.2 is sold out. E90 will be coming out soon. Please be patient.”
Personally I think keeping E90’s head diameter less than 55 mm is an excellent decision. For me this is upper limit of something I could carry comfortably in jacket pocket or loose pants’ side pocket. This is about the same as Wurkkos TS30S twins, and my Nigthwatch NS14R v2
Length of 12.5 cm vs Wurkkos TS30s’s 15 cm is another welcome change. And that red - I’ve read somewhere Firefly red is pretty. Now I could see why and hope real life appearance is THAT striking.
Thanks! And don’t feel so bad: even without owning any SBT90.2 (that T9R was my first) I hesitated for quite some time (a few weeks) before pulling the trigger on mine, basically because of FFL’s bad rep concerning shipping and delivery.
What finally pushed me to buy it was reading about the good experiences of people who had purchased it recently online (and my concerns turned out not to be unreasonable, as even with me paying extra for DHL, there was quite a bit of drama until I finally managed to receive it).
But all is well which ends well, and I’m really happy with my T9R.
As long as you don’t feed it any alkaleaks (hard with a 21700 light, but some people are really inventive and there are adapters etc), don’t let anyone borrow it, don’t misplace it, etc
Well, “can replace” is quite subjective – even an old incandescent bulb “can replace” an SBT90.2, the question is, how satisfactorily. Is there a datasheet with claimed specs anywhere?
And even if there is, I’m gonna believe it when I see it (or an in-depth review from someone like @tactical_grizzly, @1Lumen , @wolfgirl42 etc) and it’s in the market for some time so we can judge durability. The SBT90.2 is legendary and will be a tough one to beat…
I have learnt the hard way to NEVER lend anyone any flashlights of mine, unless it’s a family member needing to borrow it for use around the house for 5 minutes. Generally, I have segnificantly reduced lending out things, becuase people apparently have zero respect for the things of others . Anyways, as long as you treat a flashlight well enough, it could last a really long time.
So true. Not just flashlight, but anything that I treasure from any of my hobbies (cameras, cars, audio), I become OCD nutty protective - no one is touching it. People make mistake, accidents happen… I like to be the one screwing up if something breaks.
