Just got a EYE10 and am thinking about replacing the cw XM-L. I want to keep the spot size, so much smaller dies are no option. I have a RRT01 with 3000K XM-L2, wich is nice, but I’d like to try neutral white. But then XM-L2s in NW are all quite greenish, aren’t they?
HCRI would be nice, or something like CRI80+ if possible. If not - ok. So, maybe 4000K to 5000K, close to BBL, with not too shabby tint.
Any new LEDs to try? Of course, XM-L footprint or small MCPCB is needed.
I would use a Nichia 519a, my new favorite…, requires a different mcpcb… but might work with the stock reflector… (works great w the V11r reflector that is also XML size).
The 519a hotspot is quite large, similar to LH351d… the CRI R9 is much better.
Good news that the Nichias work with the original reflector, thank you Jon :-). Some 519A are on their way (I think), so I might try them. Light quality should be great, close to BBL, high R9.
