Can someone who has the equipment please test and review the Xtar IMR 18350 850 mAh battery. Thank you. This is not the Xtar 900mAh 18350. I’d like to know how they stack up against the other 18350’s.
And I haven't done a full test, but a discharge at 1amp down to 3 volt in my hobby charger showed 819mah for one and 821mah for the othe - really close!
Historically, my hobby charger has been always shown slightly less capacity on top quality cells than the marked capacity, so I would say they are 850mah.
I got them to use in my new nightcore EC11 and they are very bright in it - and drop voltage very quickly. I won't be using full brightness for more than 12 minutes from full charge though.
I have a some CR123 primary cells I'll use if I take it away for a trip, and save the 18350s for showing off.
For an IMR its interesting that they have slightly lower continuous discharge rates at 4.25amps (others have 7.5amps) and slightly higher capacity than 'normal' Lithium Manganese Oxide cells. I wonder if they were tweaked to get slightly higher capacity?
I think you are right. They were probably tweaked to give a strong flow longer then quickly drop off.
