ENEDED

Is it possible that the two emitters on the right got dedomed? But that would make it warmer (more yellow/green) wouldn’t it?

I tried to open it but it seems very well tight or maybe glued? I have a really good grip strength and I’ve tried many times. It won’t budge.

There was some discussion earlier in the thread, and they said that the mfr was gluing them.

Yes, there is glue on the bezel and optics itself. I am speaking to BG right now. Hope they get hold with the manufacturer soon.

What should I do? Should i contact them and send the photos?
I would like mine fixed because this is such a sexy light.

Sent email to Banggood customer service before the weekend, but so far I’ve got no reply.

Took a deep breath, written this off as a project buy… Then there’s the glued bezel, on which I tried everything to open but failed.

Now I’m really sad.

EDIT: Mine is the Nichia version.

I suspect the emitters (right of pic) are damaged due to excessive heat, and caused partial optics melted away. Leave it as it is if you are unable to dismantle it. Create a ticket and inform them your situation first.

I was just watching this video. During the video, there are several times where he has the front straight-on so you can see the correct view with no purple.

Also, when he took it apart he noted that the optic has only 2 legs instead of 4 legs. I’m wondering if maybe because there’s only 2 legs, that may be why they had to glue the optic to the head? Maybe they also got glue on the emitters, of maybe the glue became liquified with heat and covered the emitters?

I can’t even send a ticket as it wont upload any photos. It says “please upload a picture” and I have and it doesn’t go. Ill have to send them an email directly.

That’s exactly what I got. “Please upload a picture at least” (sic), so I sent an email to csservice at banggood.cn on Friday. No reply.

Could you please help us freeme?

ALERT: Please contact cservice@banggood.com if you experienced

  1. blue beam,
  2. uneven or reduced output from quad emitters, or
  3. dead emitter(s)

Quote Faulty Astrolux S41S Flashlight for title.

Whats the best way to try and open it up? Do we need to heat it up? Use force (which could damage the SS :frowning: )
Why did they use glue? :frowning:

Soooooo happy I didn’t buy any of these yet…

(Sorry, that’s not a useful or constructive comment whatsoever)

Yesterday it was okay, but just now I got this…

Must’ve been swamped …

I tried using 2 clamps with rubber to see if I can open it and no luck. Pretty strong glue that was used.

If you take a look at Bluzie’s pics back in this post ENEDED - #365 by Bluzie

It looks like one of the TIR wells is messed up in both the SS and colored lights. Perhaps that is the cause of the rather purple beamshots he posted and not camera settings.

Supposedly it needs a lot of heat for it to budge. Manker E14 Mods

Another thread says heat until 100 degree C then use leather grip.

No go. I’ll try again later tonight.

I haven’t even gotten mine yet, and now this! Is this purple emitter problem happening for EVERY light, or just some of the lights (XP-G3)?

Don’t get me wrong mate. I wasn’t kicking up a stink (yet) … Out of respect to freeme (top bloke) and as mentioned, the rest of the unit is good stuff.

Let’s give banggood a chance to make things right, if not then use force on the bezel

Edit: @ohaya mine is the nichia version.

Try cservice@banggood.com. New BG rep may not be as well-versed in flashlight like Neal, however she is very willing to help out. We seek your understanding and patience while BG evaluate the situation. Meanwhile, don't get mad if you receive standard template reply from cs. They need time to be briefed as well.
