I like them all, but the one that stands out most to me and look diffrent from other makers and previous lights made is nr 1.
It has a clean look, less machining/ milling operations = Lower cost in true BLF spirit.
Lets make this the badass light it was ment to be, save on machining but not the innards like reflector and engine.
Interesting as it looks more like option nr 2 needs more milling and option nr 1 is less patterns and grooves.
But i am no expert or manufacurer. It just seems more logical to me. But i will leave this to the experts.
I still like nr1 better for looks.
I’d say it’s approximately the same for all of them. For one design it’s cheaper to manufacture the head, for the other the body is cheaper and so on. My guess is that it evens out somehow.
Maybe Design 4 would even be cheapest since it has many straight surfaces and one part less. After that my guess would be Design 3 and most expensive are 1 & 2. However, I don’t believe that that would reflect in a significant difference in the overall price.
I personally like 1 the best, because I’m a fan of polarion, but I think the head cone needs some additions to make it not look so plain.
Polarion for reference:
Love your work !
Any chance you could send me some more renderings of the design? Maybe try and incorporate more fins at the base of the head for even better heat dissapation without changing the looks? Seems many here would like to mod these for quad setups when the GT is launched and it could be wise to make it a platform to cater both worlds.
I’m also thinking of withdrawing my order if one of those win. For me, number 2 is the only design that is badass enough to be a million candela light.
Well, i didn’t vote for #3 (my attempt) either.
I think my earlier ones were better actually, maybe sat too long behind the screen, i dunno…
Still not exited about #2 though, and #1 needs some work too i.m.o. but has the most potential.
Maybe in the end we’ll have something we all can live with.
I PREFER the heatsink fin design of option two most of all.It seems enough for those who want to throw in XHP70 LEDs into the light. The knurling is pretty awesome but not super necessary and the head design again is awesome, but a basic cone shape like option 1 is fine if it keeps the cost to a minimum. Thanks
