Also, if you donāt mind, could you confirm the mode order, and whether or not it has memory? Thanks!
And beamshots!
And tint impressions/comparisons!
And runtimes!
Ha ha, I know youāre working on it - looking forward to the review!
The review will be posted tomorrow . But here is a sneak peak :
UI : Ultra low - Low - Medium - High and hidden Strobe - Sos - Beacon mode
From off :
Single click (short) turns light on , on the lowest mode
Longer click turns light on , on the last used mode (not available for ultra low mode , because you can access it with short click)
Double click turns light on strobe (you enter hidden modes)
From on :
If you are in a regular mode :
Single click cycles between (Ultra Low - Low - Medium - High)
Double click and youāre in Strobe
If you are in a hidden mode :
Single click cycles between (Strobe - SOS - Beacon)
Double click and youāre in last used regular mode
Also , max lumens on High , using 14500 should be ~600 (to be confirmed in review) .
Doesnāt fit protected 14500 as some people said .
High quality from a quick view .
So far I like itās UI, but not the āDoesnāt fit protected 14500ā part.
Giorgos, could you compare UT01ās lm/cd output to Mi7ās?
I donāt own a Mi7 . Sorry
Strange!
The Mi7s Iāve ordered havenāt arrived yet, else Iād gladly give you one to compare.
Doesnāt fit protected 14500
The E11 suffers from this too
Thanks for the quick pre-review!
Thatās a small bummer - do you have a maximum length of battery that will fit, so I can confirm the fit of batteries I already have?
I completely forgot about this unsupported protected cell and I have no unprotected 14500 around :person_facepalming:

Think about a pair of UR14500P or/& TrustFire IMR14500 (good comments at FT) that Iāve ordered some days ago from KD ($9.38 / $5.31 using code BLF).
Thanks a lot for the first impressions! It tentatively is looking very good.

Is this similar to to the E11 with the battery you are using? Budda suggests that āyouāll need high quality IMR 14500ā in his review of the Manker E11, which had considerably higher output, but might be a battery difference:
Iām interested now, 2x NW
Any idea if a T01 copy is coming?
I tested it with Nitecore IMR 14500 but i also have a Efest purple to test tomorrow .
Also the output on AA looks very promising .
what markings does the light have on it ?
Cool!!
How is it with flat top cells? I have efest purple IMR-unprotected that are flat topped.
How is the PWM?
thanks George

You mean logo etc ?
a small Utorch logo on the head , and UT01 on the tailcap .
Cool!!

efest purple must be the best choice . It has a perfect fit (the shorter battery) , and i think it will give maximum output . Iām charging the cell now .
Pwm not visible with bare eye

Same here and no desire for any. Is there any quality (protected) cell out there which is slightly shorter that might work or a āworkaroundā of any kind which is still safe?
I bought this after probably overpaying/not doing enough due diligence in picking up the ZL SC52 L2; which I like for its 500 turbo lumens, decent throw and it to being an instant (high quality/protected) hand warmer this time of year.
Gaining 20%(?) more lumens by using an unprotected cell (even for this little comparative money) doesnāt make me sleep any better at night. Perhaps Iād feel better if I knew that ZLās on board protection circuit was comparable yet Iām guessing that itās not.
Not smart on my part. :person_facepalming:
I am interested in a coupon for NW, thanks!
