Just lost one of my knives last week.
No lights lost for months.
But… Did you really EDC yours? Wasn’t it more ODCing?
Not being impolite, but that is what I like about those cheaper knives and lights.
Lose it, look for it, don’t find it, replace it, done.
Some rental outfits offer metal detectors. If not good now then in the spring; one should pick up that much metal easily Or there may be a local metal detecting enthusiast group who could offer assistance. Just offering a $5 reward and some land to detect on would probably be enough to get a couple guys out there to search
I lost a mini mag with my house keys attached to it. First time I ever lost something that wasn’t stolen. Wasn’t too broken up about it since it was free. I would have been upset if my e11 disappeared though .
The same thing happened to my friend, literally hours after his wedding in Hawaii. Needless to say, his new wife was thrilled.
Brian, I hope you find your light, still in working order.
YEP!!! same thing, a week after my wedding on our honeymoon. Now whenever I see people with metal detectors at the beach i know exactly what they are doing.
I’m not a rich man, but some things transcend dollars. Loyalty is one of those traits that far transcends normal values IMO. I fully appreciate it when someone has my 6 (despite my screw up in this case) and folks who do that are few and far between. I understand that some folks want the inexpensive lights and want to save a few dollars, after all, this is the BLF, but the E-11 isn’t an expensive light and the quality is higher than the price, as is the company IMO. I never expected this sort of treatment and didn’t post with any expectation from my tale of woe other than to merely cry into my beer. I have absolutely no connection to Manker other than as a full retail paying customer and what has been read here on the BLF.
I know it’ll only be a light, but the replacement will have a bit more value for me than the lights I purchased. Over the years the character marks that it’ll acquire will mean something.
