Jaxman used high CRI Nichia leds in their E2 and M8 lights, and those are really good.
So the question is natural.
dear all, I know there a saying: the Rome city is not finished in one day.
I think to make a new product from a steady begin is better, I need experiences more than money.
So, we decide begin from XPG2 S4 lamps version.
I love you,dear.
We are a little firm. Let make things steady and successfully.
That 5A surprises me! I kinda like that!
MiG0, you ever want to mod a light and have trouble finding your preferred emitter power and tint bin? Now think of making 1000 lights, having to source the numbers you would like at a price point you’re willing to pay. Sometimes it’s just simply a matter of what’s available. Especially when you’re a smaller guy among the big companies.
Interesting.
Nichia 219b 4500k 9080 would be great !
Sweet, is that the new 219C 90+ high cri LED? Would be awsome.
Ordered a Warm White yesterday. A triple for under 30, heck yeah……18350 and a 18500 tube….uhhhh yeah.
Jaxman, you’re getting better and better! :+1: :+1:
anything over about 90mm long is too big for what i consider EDC
wle
cause you cant have that and 900 lumens at the same time?
they are hitting 2 different market segments, High Brightness and High CRI
in category Products > Strong Light Flashlights they list E2L w XP-G2 900 lumens (6 watts)
under Products > High Color Rendering Lights, they list the E2 w Nichia 350 lumens (5 watts)
personally I also agree a Nichia Tripple is appealing, and I expect it will follow…
Triple of 219C D240 with 700mA have output more than 700lm . It’s pretty good.
Some introduce pictures to the E2L’s LED and lens assembling:
Very nice looking, and have already ordered one. I do wish the MPCB was not glued down with adhesive
I have a U1 (UV365).
I wanted to change the led by a Nichia 365, was not possible to remove the old glue (epoxi type).
I had to change the pill, it is the same as the Convoy S2+
I really like it but as long as it is glued I will not buy it, sorry.
如果您推出日亚高显色LED, 加上18350短管, 那就更好。
Do not listen to him, 黑 is needed.
jaxman
10x for your efforts about that, it seems to be a lovely torch indeed, will post again when i got it
Yet, i was wondering, meanwhile would you be so kind to post here a close detailed photo of those S4 1A emitters ? They could end up being from the “gold ones”….woah :sunglasses:
Lol, I bought one with 1A emitters, just to be replaced, I did think about them as being potentially one of the ‘good’ XP-G2’s. I will post a picture, Mitko!
Looks like far too much heat transfer goo.
It should barely fill the microscopic cracks in the metal surface and leave as much metal-to-metal contact as possible.
Unless the “new” means it’s some magic material that’s as good as metal at transferring the heat.

Chamfering:
Applause! Good practice.
Unno, looks like plain ol’ Fujik to me.
If it dries rubbery, should be (relatively speaking) easy to pry off.
If thermal epoxy, well, yah, you’re SOL.
