Just saw this, and I’m tempted! It’s a great looking light, certainly impressive brightness for an AA-sized battery.
But I already have an A6 with an 18350 tube… resulting in a light with the same driver that’s smaller max diameter, shorter length, and greater battery capacity. I know this will be an unpopular sentiment here, and I’m surprised I’m even saying it, but I’m finding it hard to justify this light…
OTOH, when someone starts selling the next impressively bright 2xAAA-sized light, then I’ll probably cave!
I’d like to see this model with nice Nichia high CRI LED and variety of drivers: 4x7135 with nice modes would be healthier for 14500…
The other nice LED would be XPL HI, a bit of little beauty flashlight with nice throw. Suggestions sent on Banggood chat.
For me it looks great, even better than Astrolux SC.
mine just came in, it looks gorgeous! the battery tube is way larger than the 14500 but it fits and works with no jiggling around.great finish, really do not notice the branding. one problem, the switch light is not functioning. do i need to put it in a different ui to get it working?
Nope, it’s not the UI. The problem is that there are no components on the switchboard except the switch itself. The only way to get the lighted tail cap working is to solder on an led and resistor. Seems we’ve been duped.
They have probably done you a favor as the lighted tail cap feature makes the reverse switching pause incredibly long. Very hard to get the timing down to do reverse.
And yes the 14500’s do not last all that long when shelf sitting with tail cap lit.
My copper BLF X5 drains pretty fast and will kill a battery good and dead if you let it go.
Anyway, this flashlight, while pretty would end up being too heavy for EDC, for me anyway, as always, Your Voltage may Vary.
Later,
Thanks, yes it’s nice with the lighted tailcap (assuming it functions properly, and haven’t lost eg. the ability to reverse with long-presses).
But I was referring to the Astrolux SC. That’s what I am on the search for.
Any ideas?
Thanks anyway!
My apology’s. There were a few people selling them here in the last couple months. For the life of me I can’t remember who and if they were sold or not.
