Just got my free light today. Thanks for the tip!!!
It works good and it’s actually brighter than I thought. One thing that bugs me with all these types of RGBW lights: why can’t they just make it so white can be on at the same time! I don’t really have use for colors but I love messing around with dynamic whites. Whites with a bit of color for different moods but an all out color isn’t very useful unless you are a college student with an itch for disco parties. Also, I would like it if they would let each color be controlled individually-along with white. I bought a bunch of these a few months back imagining dynamic white in my kitchen and dining room but was dissapointed to find how they really worked. So I have a bunch of disco lights that will unfortunately be sitting around doing nothing. That is unless I can figure out how to reprogram them:)
Did anyone else end up with lots of extra remotes? I bought 6 lights and 6 remotes and they ended up shipping separately. The remotes showed up Sunday, and then the lights today, each light ended up having a remote attached to the box. So now I have twice as many remotes as I do lights.
I ended up purchasing the remote just to purchase something else from thorfire because the G1 bulbs were all out of stock. If anyone knows where to get one of those bulbs, please let me know.
These $5 Glaree AAA are really nice lights. “Similar” to Thrunite. Twisty head and can be taken apart. L, M, H and a couple quick twists to get Hidden strobe.
Comes with pocket clip that can be used in either direction and clipped on hat brim as a headlight. Also Keychain with C-clip and spare O-ring.
I have swapped several over to Nichia 219BT 4000K But I bet a 319AT would be awesome for brightness… I have some ordered. Well worth $5 and free Prime shipping.

I’ll have to agree, five bucks for this is a great deal. I have one and am impressed with the features and quality even for a ten buck light. Might get another one myself…
So far I have 8 black and 2 blue. Good for gifts and to have all over house and shop. Best $5 light I have found this year.
Last round, I was skeptical of posting the deal and the coupon expired before I received the light and could confirm it was a good light.
Have 2 of the black ones from last round, just ordered a Blue.
Am running a Soshine LifePo 3.6 volt in the black one and modes work and it hasn’t died yet although I have not run it for extended periods of time. YMMV.
Heck of a flashlight for the price of a Big Mac
Thank you vwpieces. Red one was $5+ too with the code. My mother recently gave away the red Thrunite I had given her years ago. She was in Colorado on some cave tour and people were very impressed at the little lights output. So she gave it to relative that was there with her. She has been missing the light so maybe this will replace it. Bonus is that it has modes. The Thrunite only had one mode.
I always run eneloop (nimh) or rewrapped eneloop. No leakage issues.
And what fun is a half dead battery? I always want a full one. With alkaline you’d be throwing that battery away (or figuring out a use for a half dead battery). With nimh, just recharge and you’re back to 100%.
Like my bobofett light! It’ll go all joule-thief on it ’til the cell’s crying for mercy. Perfect moonlight down to firefly mode ’til it’s all wrung dry. No need to keep your normal light on moonlight mode, just keep this one around on a nightstand, and it’s go-time!
And no chance of making the mistake of still having it on turbo when you want to make a late-night trip to the can, or for a drink, or whatever, then blinding yourself and seeing nothing but big green spots for the next half-hour.
NiMh or alkaline…
I have AAA Eneloop and black Amazon rechargeables and use those mostly,
Also have some cheap AC Delco AAA Alkalines that sometimes find their way into my pocket light.
The AAA alkaline will last for a really long time on short bursts, what I use most at work. If I am outside working on something and using for long periods I always will use a rechargeable.
Generally an NiMh on high will get the light warm and an alkaline will not. Obviously the NiMh is brighter…
Overall run time of usable light the alkaline will run longer. Even a half dead alkaline will come back a bit for more short bursts with some time back in the pocket.
