Why it doesnât have Warm/ Neutral white emitter like other model, why Nitecore
Mine is not that cool its a more neutral color. I am a big NW fan and I was pleased with its tint.
This is mine, I have tried to get the best pic for show the tint of my unit:
Thanks all for comment here your impressions!
Where did you get yours from? The only US seller I see right now is BatteryJunction.
It was Bang Good but it shipped from the US?
I guess that have a warehouse somewhere in the USA
Thanks Mr Hokie bird! I didnât know they had a US warehouse, have to look into that. By the way, of all the places we have lived, Christiansburg/Blacksburg Va were my favorites!

Me to!
Received mine today!
- it will tailstand (despite the protruding tail switch)
- tint is NW too, very good
âŚand mine came in too. Love it, nothing wrong: great form factor and the yellow is :sunglasses: , looks robust, safe because 2xAA, it has my kind of simple UI with very good mode spacing, good cool-ish tint that fits the yellow exterior, very good beam, glad they did not choose XP-G3.
This is a flashlight to really use and it makes a nice present too.
Got mine today, Iâve been waiting for a light like this for a long time.
The side by side AA design hasnât gotten much attention despite its higher capacity and, IMHO, more comfortable shape to grip.
The yellow really pops, I turned the lights out in my office and was easily able to locate the MT22 with minimal light.
I would hope that Nitecore would consider an MLHMLHStrobe interface in future versions. Fortunately itâs not a 1000+ lumen monster so it wonât burn your leg if it comes on in your pocket.
If you decide you need more light after turning it on and setting to medium or low youâll need to pass by the strobe to get back around. I prefer the strobe either on the second cycle through the modes or accessed by some double or triple click.
The head release button can be depressed by setting the light on a flat surface and pushing on the other side of the body, hopefully theyâll make it flush in future versions to avoid this.
The light works fine on Eneloops, Alkies, or L91 lithium AA batteries. 14500 is not supported, âbannedâ in the manual.
The material used in the body seems tough but not brittle, I canât imagine any problems with it unless seriously abused. The head is metal but doesnât throw off the balance much.
With 2 Eneloops in it the balance point is just barely past the middle on the head side. Barely.
Tint on mine is just a little on the cool side, not bad at all and unless you like warm tints you wonât even notice it unless youâre looking for it.
The ergonomics of one-handed tailswitching are as expected, imperfect, as it is on all flashlights with a switch on the rear. Turn it on then position it in your hand. That said; itâs probably the best method for this light. A switch on the head would put it in a different price range and the additional complexity would detract from its simple vibe. This is a light that anyone could figure out and would probably be a prized possession to a person unfamiliar with our little hobby.
There may be a sentimental element to my attraction to this design, but thereâs no denying the extra capacity and ergonomics. I have a D20A that gets a lot of use but not for EDC. Itâs about an inch longer than the MT22 and damn if itâs not sharp all over!
It doesnât look like thereâs a lot of excitement about this light so Iâll probably get one or two more just so Iâll have some for later when theyâre gone.
edit: I set the light up in tailstand position and tipped it over onto the side with the head release button, after the second tipover the head was able to come out. There is a snap-ring holding the head release button in place, I removed the metal release button but it doesnât look like it can be ground down to make it flush. Be aware of this issue when tailstanding.
Mine showed up today and I agree with the above comments about the shape, itâs really nice and feels tough, but it would be better if the strobe was hidden. If it had a side switch it would be perfect
I had swapped the led to a high CRI 3500K Nichia and was extremely happy with it. But now I need a nice present for a friend who turns 50 today and this light appears the perfect gift :weary:
Time for re-ordering :person_facepalming:
I still need to get one of these. Not sure of what color to get?
Iâd pay good money to someone if these could be re-flashed and the strobe removed. These are perfect for the Kids camping, but I canât have them strobing people around the campgrounds
hey nitecore, make this light again with a side switch, hide the strobe and put a red led next to the other light
You might want to check out the Sunwayman D20A, not exactly a budget light but closer to what youâre looking for. Thereâs one pictured in the 4th picture of the review.
Yes, thatâs what reminded me and your right, not exactly budget but a budget light like that would be popular I would think
Has anyone tried 14500 cells in this light?
Thank you
Has anyone tried 14500 cells in this light?
Thank you
Most probably they would fry your flashlight.
Thereâs a review which states 14500 batteries as âbannedâ.
But if youâre brave enough, you should post your experiences here.
