[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

What is the designed IPX waterproof resistance rating for the flashlight? I assume someone has it on his testing list for the prototypes.

Does LT have lights with an lighted e-switch? Then it would be an off the shelf part but honestly I think we really ask a lot with the quality of the reflector, carriers, now coated glass.
All other things seem not that important

Safety is, so an plastic insert is cheap, causes no power losses and can be removed is people was t to use flattops.
This seems like a real smart solution.

Does any of you guys have something to screw into the tripod hole and apply force one would expect it to endure being hauled around?

Will update the list later.

The LT BLF SD10 has a lit switch. Mine is running Narsil of course

Do you mean a private mod? Or will it be like an availability that we can choose what we want (XHP70.2 or XHP35hi) while purchasing. Latter is against to the topic and the concept but if possible, it will be a good thing not bad.

Private mod

Some GT internals, aka flashlight porn. Had it apart yesterday, just did not have time to post.

Reflector:

Note the nicely finished edge on the lens. O-ring on top:

Centering gasket:

Bezel:

Nice finish inside the head:

DTP copper MCPCB:

Driver retaining ring:

Driver pocket, LED shelf thickness evident, wires look like AWG 20:

Driver, nothing to fault here. Critical parts are exactly as specified:

LED ‘engine’ is a separate module. Handy to keep dust off the reflector when working on the MCPCB:

Got to love those radiation fins:

Refector housing. Reflector floats inside and presses on centering ring when assembled:

Who did not believe you can hide a C8 inside the battery tube?:
[EDIT: Less suggestive version]

Btw reminder for people who live in a country where PayPal is illegal: (Too bad it is probably only me.)

Paypal payments work if you pay without an account and if you choose your country different.

For example as I live in Turkey, I need to select another country like Turkmenistan  :person_facepalming: Then I need to enter fake address etc. And I need to pay without an account.

Most of times this works. But I do not know if Paypal disputes work if you go this way.

I have written this because you have said that payments will be handled by Paypal. Did not get any reply for credit/debit card payment. So I assume that you will only allow Paypal payments.

I am asking that if this payment procedure can be applied for this project? I tried to buy something from eBay and this worked.

Wow DEL, great pics!
What is the actual ID of the top in the reflector?

Fuzun, i am sure it will work out
there is a will so sure we’ll find a way

I agree an indicator LED would be nice (but I am spoiled by the Q8 proto and some modified K2 lights).

Driver and firmware is all ready for this. Would just need a transparent boot for the button and a LED mounted beside the tactile button.

A green glowing button looks pretty cool and can be particularly useful on this light to locate the button and/or light.

The ID at the outlet of the reflector is 118 mm, 2 mm smaller than the ID of the bezel.

Great pictures DEL !

That tube definitely need some knurling and I wote for Lumintop unique diamond pattern like on SDmini…

Btw that’s my face while watching all these prototypes pictures

1.736 kg, loaded with four 30Qs.

(3.827 lbs)

Instead of normal knurling a pineapple knurling would look good on the tube.
Like MecArmy PT60

That pattern would look really nice on this light, although not sure how it would work with the flat sections on the battery tube?

If it could be made to look good I would totally be down for this.

Yeah, this should not be hard or expensive to source, I see switches like this with LED’s in all sorts of ultra budget lights, even a lot of my cheap SRK’s had them, only missing the LED’s. I can’t see it adding more then .10-.20 cents to the cost of the light.

Well worth the cost IMHO.

I also noticed that your centering ring was in much better condition then mine, so looks like my guess of mine just being normal prototype abuse that caused it to kill the LED is plausible.

Del, how is your reflector quality? Do you have any pictures of the reflector? If you hold it a few inches away from the table and turn it on, do you see rings?

118? Not quite the target 120 mm then. Interesting.... Here's an old picture of the SD10:

Lumintop SD26:

Ask and ye shall receive. Here are some beamshots from last night. Pictures are not perfect as it was in semi-auto but gives a reasonable demonstration of what was seen. The GT blows everything else out of the water by a large margin!

Here is the GT aimed about 300-350ft away (tried to get some longer range shots but it was way too humid and the beam washed out the image before you could see the reflection, looked cool though, looked like a light saber!):

Convoy L2 with XP-L HI

Convoy L2 with xhp35 HI

Cometa:

The GT beam in nearly fog like humidity:

Another GT beamshot from a distance:

Comparison with several other throwers, I think the order goes like this:

XHP35 HI L2 - XP-L HI L2 - BLF GT - Small 2s zoomie - XHP35 HI 1405 - Cometa

Cool beam shots!

Some of my lights reflect the emitter like a mirror (o-lights, L2, D80, ), the GT not so much.

This is what shows with the light ~2” away from the wall:

Edit: From my first photos, if it helps:

+1!
The beamshots are awesome! Can’t wait!
