Does LT have lights with an lighted e-switch? Then it would be an off the shelf part but honestly I think we really ask a lot with the quality of the reflector, carriers, now coated glass.
All other things seem not that important
Safety is, so an plastic insert is cheap, causes no power losses and can be removed is people was t to use flattops.
This seems like a real smart solution.
Does any of you guys have something to screw into the tripod hole and apply force one would expect it to endure being hauled around?
Do you mean a private mod? Or will it be like an availability that we can choose what we want (XHP70.2 or XHP35hi) while purchasing. Latter is against to the topic and the concept but if possible, it will be a good thing not bad.
Btw reminder for people who live in a country where PayPal is illegal: (Too bad it is probably only me.)
Paypal payments work if you pay without an account and if you choose your country different.
For example as I live in Turkey, I need to select another country like Turkmenistan :person_facepalming: Then I need to enter fake address etc. And I need to pay without an account.
Most of times this works. But I do not know if Paypal disputes work if you go this way.
I have written this because you have said that payments will be handled by Paypal. Did not get any reply for credit/debit card payment. So I assume that you will only allow Paypal payments.
I am asking that if this payment procedure can be applied for this project? I tried to buy something from eBay and this worked.
Yeah, this should not be hard or expensive to source, I see switches like this with LED’s in all sorts of ultra budget lights, even a lot of my cheap SRK’s had them, only missing the LED’s. I can’t see it adding more then .10-.20 cents to the cost of the light.
Well worth the cost IMHO.
I also noticed that your centering ring was in much better condition then mine, so looks like my guess of mine just being normal prototype abuse that caused it to kill the LED is plausible.
Del, how is your reflector quality? Do you have any pictures of the reflector? If you hold it a few inches away from the table and turn it on, do you see rings?
Ask and ye shall receive. Here are some beamshots from last night. Pictures are not perfect as it was in semi-auto but gives a reasonable demonstration of what was seen. The GT blows everything else out of the water by a large margin!
Here is the GT aimed about 300-350ft away (tried to get some longer range shots but it was way too humid and the beam washed out the image before you could see the reflection, looked cool though, looked like a light saber!):
Convoy L2 with XP-L HI
Convoy L2 with xhp35 HI
Cometa:
The GT beam in nearly fog like humidity:
Another GT beamshot from a distance:
Comparison with several other throwers, I think the order goes like this:
XHP35 HI L2 - XP-L HI L2 - BLF GT - Small 2s zoomie - XHP35 HI 1405 - Cometa
