Here we go
Both came packed in nice cardboard boxes suitable for a trip or two across the ocean
no lanyards but that’s ok I think they are supposed to be there according to paperwork.
they appear to be of good quality smooth threads and no sharp edges.
the reflectors are blemish free, I did not disassemble the lights but tailcaps have different threads.
the leds are xpl for vg10s and xpl2 for the tk15
both draw around 3a on the highest settings so should be good for around the 1100
advertised lumens,(I don’t have a intergrating sphere for accurate measurements)
The tk15 has a side mounted electronic switch the vg10s tail cap clicky
Another nice touch is moonlight mode on both lights 0.5 for the tk15 and 1lumen for the vg10s.
they both also have hidden strobes double click to access ,very nice Mr. Thorfire
So the vg10 s has moonlight low,med high, and the tk15 has turbo as well.
a bit of a lineup with c8 , x6 and s2+
I particularly like the incorporation of some attempt of cooling on the sausage light
it gets fairly warm still, not a problem this time of year in Australia.
the tint supplied was a nice warm4-5000k
vg10 on left.
tk15 with s2 6500tint
x6 and vg10s x6 has xpg3 6000 tint
vg10s and c8 in 5000 tint
another thing Thorfire got right is protected Panasonic’s fit straight in
instructions
vg10s…hay bales 40metres and shed 65metres
tk15 looks dismal in this shot but is almost as good as the vg10
to round up my preference would be the vg10 very similar to a m1
but those of you that like the sausage type lights
I would buy the tk15 over the s2 type
if I get time next week I will try to dismantle the lights
