Yeah, loved the car but hated the scandal… had to sell of some 40 lights to make 2 car payments while it all sorted itself out. Gave up some awesome builds in that little adventure…
So in that last statement is an indicator of a flashaholic. Not only having 170 flashlights but when forced to sell off some having it impact ya like deciding which child is the favorite, then missing them when they are gone. The SP03 I planned for a long time, it had a massive copper pill I built for it and Richards driver, bumped. Miss that one a lot especially.
So, for all you noobs out there, the day will come when you look at the Q8 or this special edition build and list to yourself all the reasons it’s a keeper, like an alcoholic reasoning why it’s ok to fall into a bottle. You’ve been ForeWarned!
lol I can unfortunately see that happening to me in the future. But I am just a flashlight enthusiast and not a flashaholic. Flashaholic’s go to meetings.
@ DB Custom
I’m sorry for your “loss” man! It seems that even owning lots of flashlights does not withdraw their singular intrinsic value! Hope you can retrieve them someday
@ The Miller or someone who can answer my questions
I might have got lost in the almost 1000 posts, but I need help to clarify these:
a) does this light takes protected and unprotected 18650 batteries?
b) which would be “the best” battery to use with it?
c) also, is there a foreseen delivery date for this?
I have Samsung INR18650-30Q and Panasonic NCR18650B, but if none of these are “the best” to use with the flashlight, please let me know which would be!
I’m just thinking pro-actively, as I need to buy some batteries and that way I’d buy the ones that are more indicated for the F3WA!

a) Only unprotected cells will fit
b) There is no real best cell, but there are many good options. I personally use NCR18650GA cells as they have a fairly high current rating and an excellent capacity. But your INR18650-30Q should also work really great with the light. As mentioned it’s a little bit of personal preference.
c) Not yet, but we will let you all know as soon as there is noteworthy news

Thank you very much for the answers Fritz!!! Gotta take a look at those batteries (HKJ tests may help)!
And thanks for the work on this! Its really great!
EDIT: I took a look at HKJ tests and compared the Sanyo NCR18650GA, the Samsung 30Q and also the Sony US18650VTC6. I ordered 2 of these last. They may lose a bit in runtime, but gain a bit in power, as far as I perceived. Thanks for the tip anyway, Fritz
NCR 18650GA is only rated 10A continuous while 30Q is rated for 15 amps. Wouldn’t 30Q be better for hotrods like this light and the D4? Or will the GA produce less output so these lights overheat slower?
I’d go for 30Q, HG2 or VTC6, in any order. But, for a little more runtime and a little less performance, yes GA, MJ1, and maybe a couple others would be great too.
the Miller, I used to believe in the quality of German engineering as well, and then I bought a Volkswagen Turbo Diesel.
I did too. The one before served me faithfully for more than 526,000 km. The last one ran OK until it got a piece of plastic in the inlet plus new firmware. I know diesels don’t have spark-plugs but now it feels like it is running on 3.5 spark-plugs. Unless you depress the accelerator pedal a bit further and than it is no longer a sensible enonomical small car.
I wish VW gave me the same settlement as they gave you.

I always think long and hard before I say something really stupid.
No, everyone is joking a little. The person who made the first one lives in Germany so people say it’s “Designed in Germany”. If this same fellow lived in Cuba for instance, it would be “Designed in Cuba”. No no big deal there.
These lights will be mass produced by Lumintop in China and will have no exterior markings at all.
LT is going over a slightly revised design, we hope for some news next week!
Petroleum Lantern Guy, I hope it will work out for you
I just leave you on this for there is no obligation to buy
GT will do for that one is expensive and others are now expecting to move up a spot.
Hey at least they are super clean to the environment. All of the emissions tests say they are anyway………
Please add me to the list for a second one.
Thanks

@Nguyen
No marks on the light at all.
And it’s more like Apple:
designed in Germany
made in China
Flat Top batteries will fit this light, right?
Yes
See the battery tube ends? Perfect for flat tops.

Thank you Jason
I am interested to buy 1.
I’m in for one, thanks!
Awesome Jason, busy busy here and all the time you explain things just very clear and fast!
Will update list later.

How my BLF Specials generally work, please read before asking Qs
The Q8, Exciting a groupbuy for a Premium BLF special high lumens soda can light!
The GT, A BLF special GIGA thrower
The FW3A, a TLF BLF special small, elegant, powerful triple

Sorry grammarlovers, I am a real King Typo.
I’m really impatient, I know this will be one of my most prized flashlights ….
Thanks for this job!!
@ The Miller, can you remove my second one on the list please?
Same as with the GT, I have to cut down on flashlight purchases for a while due to uncertain job situation.
Still want one FW3A and also one Q8, but the second FW3A and the GT are just too much. Sorry for the additional work I am causing.
I love all kinds of lights... storm lanterns, kosmos & matador lamps, gas lanterns, tallow lanterns, flashlights, lasers, tritium vials...
LT is going over a slightly revised design, we hope for some news next week!

@the Miller
We should have rohs and CE marking.
I suggest on the driver as silkscreen or in the tailcap
Can’t we use stickers. On the inside customs can’t see it

Right, wouldn’t be any point in putting it on the driver. On the tail cap, butt end maybe, would be the most innocuous.
As I know the marking must be permanent.
My only concern is customs can refuse an import of goods without CE Mark.
On the other hand non of my Lumintop lamps has a CE mark
To open the lamp you unscrew the head so I tought on the underside of the driver where + connect
So if custom ask, open the head.
