Actually, thatās one of the āmilderā stories I got about the placeā¦
Funny(?) thing is, the Friday before, I was stressed out from the unrelenting abuse they heaped on me (and not just me), so I asked my boss for next week off, as Iād already accrued a full week of vacation. He balked, saying it āwasnāt a good timeā to take off. I told him a week of vacation or a week of sicktime, his choice.
That whole next week I just stayed home to decompress, so I was home the entire time. I called AmEx that Monday, and the whoooooooole week, no one from the company called me. Point being, they got the call from AmEx while I was still there.
That Friday, late afternoon, I called. The receptionist sounded like she was talking to a ghost. I asked for Boss-Man, she transferred me over, he answersā¦
āHey, HisNameHere, itās me.ā
āOhā¦ hiā¦ā
āSo, HisNameHere, should I bother coming in to work on Monday?ā
