Just received this light. The light is smaller than I thought. Since this light uses a Fresnel lens, it is more compact than most Zoom flashlight. The Fresnel lens is under an AR coated lens and this light accept protected batteries (I was able to fit a protected 26F around 70mm inside without any issue).
Overall, I like this light.

Rings do not bother as much than cheap aspherical lens.

Got mine today
Good copper DTP MPCPB, but not enough thermal paste IMHO
I removed the stock driver to make it DD only (only bursts with that kind of flashlight for me) and put an XP-L HI instead of stock HD
Compared with my FET driven Dedomed XP-L C8 :
No numbers, sorry I don’t have a luxmeter.
The form factor is nice, I love the fresnel lens much than an aspheric though the HT08 doesn’t collect as much light as my B158B aspheric zoomie.
HT08 on the left, B158B on the right (dedomed XP-L and DD) both with 30Q

Same here.
So, it ‘stretches’ a really long way.
That means the lens has a long focal length.
That means you lose a lot of light when focussed.
It also means a tight narrow beam with a small projection of the LED.
I ordered one too, but it’s not in yet.

This is about 2 feet from green wall. As you zoom out they go away but are back when getting out to full zoom out.
And yes, you have to turn the head forever it seems like. This light sure seems like it should put out more lumens.
My only experience with zoomies is a Cometa….that I like.

Thanks for the pics, X3 & chooma. Just ordered one, with that DTP board, I just need to replace the stock driver with my extra BLF A6 and done.

I wish HaikeLite would come up with a small/lightweight 18350 light.
