I think it’s Gearbest who starts with the $5 refund offer. With Banggood they probably ask you to send the light back first. That is, if you told them you can’t solder the driver they want to send you.
They must pay for the shipping but I don’t want to wait. It would take very long time. I need a replacement first and then I will ship the Disco one back.
Standard procedure as described on the site is send back light first, then you get money back (if the light died in DOA period). But surely you can negotiate.
May i know which host color and tint are the affected ones? Mine sample it is from the very first production batch in silver CW. I will check with them.
Just received mine today - White body, NW tint. I'm getting a flicker in just one LED on turbo. I thought I noticed it at first in the lightbox, then been playing with it, and can isolate it to just one LED by covering over the other two with my hand (not for long though... it gets hot!).
I can't notice it in the beam on the ceiling or wall on all 3 LEDs - it's a pretty slight flicker, noticeable though on just the one LED on the wall.
I'm not interested in a fix though, since I'll be replacing the driver anyway.
The NW did in lumens about what it's rated for - didn't take a formal measurement though when noticing the flicker.
So banggood told me to make sure the batteries are charged and to tighten the head on the light. (Shakes head) boy I can’t wait to see what they say next.
Yeah I understand. Thank you for explaining. I may do a driver swap on this but would still like the light to work correctly. The UI isn’t bad. May not mod it. In that case I would love for it to work right lol.
Standard SRK size. I already modded my first MT03 II and am getting like 25K lumens (was 27K initially) out of XHP70.2 P2's. It's a bit tricky with all this power - modded the firmware to use the FET instead of the 7135 to do blinks, since the 7135 had problems with the high amps/voltage.
