I find those rates perfectly fine. 18650’s would charge at sufficient rates to not be slow, good rates for AA NiMH cells too. When I have a big event photo shoot I’m charging up 40 cells, to have another 8 bay charger that will take AA NiMH would be very important to my preparation. As an 18650 charger it would be a viable back-up to the C4-12. Nicely done.
That link actually shows it for $44.90, so let see, I can order it there and maybe get it in 12 weeks or maybe like my last two orders at aliexpress, never get it at all, or I can order it at Amazon for $49.99 and actually get it in 2 days, kind of a no braner for me.
You missed out on the 11.11 sale, sorry. If you need it quick, then Amazon is definitely the way to go. I don’t need it right now, so ordering overseas is no big deal. I usually get it in about 2 weeks.
Your in florida, right? Why would it take 12 weeks? That would be normal for Cape Town, South Africa, but not the US.
Banggood might have it on their upcoming black Friday sale. Do they deliver to you in 2 weeks?
.8A simultaneous is underwhelming. It’s going to have to sell for under $45 with Amazon Prime if it can do 8x26650’s simultaneously to match the competition here, or be priced comparably to the Xtar MC6 if it can only do 8x18650’s.
I got my C4-12 today and I have to say, this is one impressive charger! I have pretty basic chargers aside from this, never really figured out how to use the Opus. This one automatically detects the best charge rate and has at it, displaying cell temperature, internal resistance, mAh charged, time of charge, and voltage of the cell, as well as percentage of full. All this automatically scrolls through. I was very surprised a few minutes ago when I put a protection circuit stripped Trustfire 32650 in… 25mOhm resistance! Wow, that’s the lowest I’ve seen on any of the cells I’ve tested. And the charger automatically started charging at a 3A rate. Very nice. This will undoubtedly be my go-to charger from here on out!
When I ordered the C4-12 it was backordered. It’s been a while and quite honestly, I’d forgotten about it. So today, when this package arrived in the mailbox, I was puzzled. The size of the package and the weight of it had me confused, I knew it wasn’t a flashlight due to the weight, and then when I opened it… Pleasant surprise! The large laptop computer style AC adapter is really nice, the unit itself is robust in size, much larger than my other 4 bay chargers with ample space between bays to grab a cell and remove it without disturbing the other cells still charging. I think what I like most about it is the “smart” factor, it tests the cell when you put it in then automatically charges at a safe rate for the specific cell. For me, being so forgetful, this is perfect! I don’t have to remember to change charging rates, whether I put a 10440 in one bay and a 32650 in another, it selects the proper rate not only based on the capacity of the cell but also on the current percentage of charge, tapering the charge rate at the end of the charging cycle to match the cell. Smarter than I am, for sure. lol
