I like it. It feels great in the hand and the balance is perfect. The only real problem is that with only 1 screw to hold it in position, a rapid twist of the hand will cause it to rotate. I can’t get enough tension on the tripod screw to prevent it, although you really have to twist it pretty hard to make it move. I’m considering machining 1/4” off the front of the handle base so it can butt flat up against the fins of the GT and maybe prevent that. I’m not sure if its necessary yet.
Nice… Thanks for the Amazon link… I’ll add it to my cart now and keep my eye on it. (At times sales or prices tend to drop) I still need to pay for my light…
Hi folks. I saw some centering ring concerns and thought I’d share the solution I found. I filed down a centering ring that came with a Convoy S2+ smooth reflector and fit it inside of the black circle. A slightly more detailed account is in the GT Modding Thread.
As was said, you are welcome to request a refund, it may take a few days but until the light is shipped they will be happy to send a refund. There are plenty of people that would love the chance.
If you decide you want a refund, Send Neal and myself a PM requesting this. It might take a few days but as long as the light has not shipped a refund is not a problem.
This issue here is that getting the shipping information is not very simple. You contact Neal, who generally only gets lists of shipped lights after they have been delivered the last few weeks. So he then has to contact Lumintop who then has to try and figure out what order yours is and if it has shipped or not.
It is no small process and something that no one wants to do unless there is a good reason.
The lights are shipping, there are still around 250 lights left to ship, Most of them registered mail. Give it a few weeks and then we will start cleaning up any loose ends that may have fallen through the cracks. At this point we would just be chasing our tails.
If you ordered registered mail, then know that none of the registered mail orders have shipped yet, they should start shipping with the next batch.
As to the question of how many beams were in that shot at the lake, 3 on my side and one across the lake. Yes, 4 GT’s total.
A second threaded screw would stop the rotation of the camera handle, or just a pin in a hole in the GT and hidden under the handle, not going all the way through. That would be clean and neat, perhaps not quite as easy.
