No, this one definitely not.
I wouldn’t be so fixated on the bearings, there really doesn’t make that much of a difference on that size of knife, not enough mass.
Like I said, the 7076 doesn’t have bearings and is one of the smoothest small knives I’ve had.
These are nice too (Clones of Ganzo G719)

Notice the clones have scales on both sides of the handle , the genuine G719 only has a scale on the button side.
.
The Genuine Ganzo G719 was available on their website: FOLDING KNIVES ganzoknife.com: buy FOLDING KNIVES, catalog ganzoknife.com, buy in USA
However when I try to get on their site today I’m getting this:

Do you guys have any suggestions for a ball bearing flipper? In addition to that i would like:
- Shorter than 16cm fully deployed
- No axis lock
- Pocket clip
Sanrenmu GR-605 seems like a decent knife but would like other suggestions. I dont think the 605 has ball bearings.
The tangram amarillo is nice. Ball bearings 440c steel and a good edc size
Only thing i dont like is that it doesnt have a thumb hole or something like that, you got to use the flipper. The shape and design kinda reminds me of the gr605
SOme of the enlan knives might fit the bill too, are they regarded about same quality as sanrenmu and ganzo knives?
From my experience Sanrenmu and Ganzo quality is better by much.
This video tells me otherwise.
I can’t front flip mine but I’m not a big front flipper fan anyway.
That Y-Start mini folder is a decent one although it’s not a flipper.
This video tells me otherwise.
Well yes - and no…
As isti242 stated, this knife does not have a “traditional” flipper, but in the video (at 7:28) the reviewer uses the jimping on the spine to propel the blade open (the front of the handle appears to be cut away around the pivot for that purpose)
.
What we typically call flippers is a knife that has a flipper tab at the back and that you open by pressing down on the flipper…………
Yes this is what traditionally is thought of as a flipper.
The term “Flipper” in modern knives came about mainly after the release of the CRKT M16, which employed a protruding “tab” or “nub” that was called the ‘Carson Flipper’:
.
So yes as Adahn pointed out the Y-Start mini could be referred to as a flipper, but not in the traditional sense.
Since it appears part of the design of the knife is to employ its jimping for opening assist, for a better term I would say it has a “hidden flipper”, which would be good for places where a traditional flipper might be illegal? (and may very well be the intention of the design) or just a way of making the knife more “pocket or sheath friendly” without having any protrusions.
Cute little knife.
The y-start lk5009 is not a traditional flipper knife, it has not a flipper but you can open like a flipper pushing a zone. In my review you can see as i open it in that way. In my blog you can see too a macro image of the zone that you can use likeba flipper.

Yeah, what I said above
I bought my first budget knife last month, a Harnds Talisman, and I must say I was really impressed with what you get for the price. Now, just like with the flashlight addiction, I have a Harnds Cheetah, a Ganzo F720 and a Fura Kwaiken on the way!
I would also like to purchase a knife that is a little smaller. My criteria are: blade length of 2.75 to 3.0 inches (it cannot be longer than 3 inches); deep carry pocket clip; decent blade metal. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Frank A.
Regarding the steel, it all depends on how much you’re willing to spend.
The Sanrenmu 7063 is very nice little knife and the pocket clip is fairly deep if you keep it in the tip down position.
You can also choose between the axis lock and liner lock versions and a bunch of colors.
Here’s a couple of nicer options
CH3504 mini
CH3005
each available in a couple of colors as well.
The pocket clip on the 3005 is deeper than the 3504 mini.
You can also get 10% off right now by using the coupon code KUNGHEI
i do like the ystart 5009 except for it doesnt have a protection for the lock. When you squeeze your palm on the handle, you squeeze the lock at the same time.

Not sure what your concern is? Are you afraid it will disengage on you?
This is a typical frame lock knife so It won’t.
almost 3.5 months to get this from GB, no idea why it takes so long, but happy it finally showed up
Did GB refund you? 3.5 months is very long time.

Got myself more expensive knife below. It was not smooth after playing for a while, I have to put lubricant to make it smooth again.
