I am not sure you can do that. The $10 is lowered than original $15 because of combine shipping with GT.
If you order the tube only, there is no combine shipping anymore.
I did get confirmation that they will be packing and shipping the GT’s this week.
I recently learned a bit more about the process and it is MUCH more involved then I first assumed, which explains a lot of the decisions that happened in the early batches.
Neal has to go to lumintop and tell them how many orders and who and what the orders are. He then helps them pack them up. They will then have to make lables of some sort to designate which order is which and who they are going to.
They then give them to a 3rd party that will actually pick the courier, print the shipping labels and deal with the customs of both getting them out of China and into where ever they are going.
They then give them to the courier and they start the trip.
After all that the tracking numbers and other information has to them slowly trickle back to lumintop, then to another person at lumintop and then to Neal and then he has to organize the tracking numbers to the correct person.
After all of that he can send the tracking numbers. Needless to say it is very time consuming and it has to pass through a lot of hands.
Far as this shipment of GT’s, I expect to see them start leaving lumintop next week if I had to guess. The pattern seems to be that the packages leave on Mondays. So I would guess most will be ready by the end of this week and the rest next week.
But this is the Chinese way: Keep as many people employed as possible. A friend relayed the story of buying a box of printer paper at a warehouse store in Shanghai a few years ago. Including the driver who had to actually put the box in the car he was driven to the store in (one does not drive oneself, after all), 7 people were involved in placing the order, getting the box of paper, filling out the paperwork to be allowed to pay, moving the paperwork around, actually paying for the box of paper, and moving it to the car.
Indeed, it is simply how it is done. When I mentioned this the reply I got was basically “There is another way?”.
Also due to all the customs laws and well, china, the forwarding company is needed to just get the packages out of the country. Only some companies are allowed to do this easily it seems and the rest have to use these forwarding company.
It was so convoluted I got a little lost in the explanation but needless to say, shipping these lights is not a simple process.
No you are NOT.
I still didn’t recived my 2 pcs of GT.
There is also a few others who didn’t recived GT or recived damaged and waiting for replacement.
I’m so tired of waiting until the lumintop sends a flashlight, so I found friends in Guangzhou who sent me a flashlight on the ground, the benefit of Kazakhstan and China bordering each other. And the wooden crate my friends did to me)
I have small problem with my gt, or at least I think it shouldn’t be like that.
One cell holder has lower positive pole than the other, meaning if I put it in the back (far side from head) there is no contact between cell holders.
If I put it in front (near head) then both cell holders have contact and light works.
Each carrier has a raised and a lowered center contact (both positive). The raised contact always goes forward towards the head. There should also be arrows on the carrier legs that point toward the head.
Is there a way you can post a picture of your carriers?
That is a very strange issue, not sure what that would happen. You could take the top of the carrier with the low button and see what it looks like. Be sure you put it back together correctly though or the cells will short out.
