(prototype) the GT Mini

Amen to that!!! . :+1: ā€¦ His pictures are works of artā€¦.

Front

thats a really good picture steel.

Well, I got the ODF30 apart. As suspected, the switch is attached to the driver and it has the same indexing ears as the GT Mini.

It was an absolute pain to get apart requiring a vice, heat gun and rubber strap wrench. I have pictures in my ODF30 thread. Itā€™s a Boost driver, so that part is obviously not similar to the Buck driver in the GT Mini.

I really hope Lumintop doesnā€™t glue it, or at least uses something weaker than this blue thread locker.

Welcome to watch, GT mini rich photosā€¦ā€¦

More beautiful photos from steel_1024 in that thread!

They include our first glimpse at the driver. I hope steel_1024 doesnā€™t mind if I link them here:

interested in 1. what do I need to do to get one?

2 for me!

Originally, members were signing up via the form in the first post of M4DM4Xā€™s group buy thread.

He recently said that public sales would start on Tuesday July 17, and that the password to purchase would be removed then.

It appears the GT mini is now listed publicly on the Nealā€™s Deals page of M4DM4Xā€™s site.

thats correct!

please keep in mind the free flashlight draw includes orders until 22nd ;)

so what driver is the mini gt using then, good or bad ?

This is not the buck driver that we were promised withā€¦
I bought it BECAUSE it was supposed to be regulated at 4,5Aā€¦
I donā€™t care for a hotrod, if the final version is a FET+1 driver itā€™s overpriced

Ordered oneā€¦ :+1:

i hope i get answer to that question soon

Neal told me shipping starts next week - so you have a few days left to cancel
please use neal@m4dm4x.com to contact him for the refund.

That is most certainly not a buck driver, and Iā€™m no longer excited for this light. Itā€™s effectively a D1S that looks like a GT.

Regardless of whether this makes more sense with the factory emitter, what I was really looking forward to is putting a Nichia 119D/219D in one. Those emitters have a glass plate between the phosphor and the dome thatā€™s very promising for dedomed performance in a thrower. They also have quite low forward voltage, making a FET driver pretty much a non-option.

Iā€™m of the same opinion as zak; in fact I no longer want the light if itā€™s going to use the same FET+1 drive as the D1S - Iā€™d rather have the D1S in that case, if anything. Iā€™ve emailed neal to cancel.

I also ordered because of buck driver, otherwise itā€™s the same as the d1s.

Iā€™ll wait to hear back on what the official word isā€¦

Please confirm what type of driver will be in the GT mini BEFORE shipping them.
If itā€™s a FET+1 Iā€™ll simply ask for a refund.
Why ? False advertisement, simply that.
If they choose to send it before stating what type of driver is in, then Iā€™ll make a claim on PayPal asking for a full refund.
Why ? False advertisement.

I may sound irritatedā€¦ because I am. I already own a D1S, no need for another one in a slightly different design.

It is a FET+1 driver.
Texas Ace answered here: GT mini~reflash the latest firmware~ - #15 by Texas_Ace

False advertisement:
Lumintop copied the manual from the original GT and overlooked things.
I would say it is more a mistake.

Email sent to Neal to cancel my order.
Maybe I will not buy my FW3A after allā€¦ If Lumintop doesnā€™t know the difference between a FET driver and a buck driverā€¦
The last user manual still mention a buck driver !
