Funny you should ask, I was just thinking about that.
IMHO the answer is yes.
HDS, Novatac, Liteflux and maybe others have tackled this issue, some more successfully than others.
Again, IMHO HDS has done it best.
I don’t know if there are patent issues regarding that particular design but I’m hoping this version works.
The current carried to the switch is tiny so a much smaller conductor could be used.
A notch down the inside of the battery tube could house the insulated conductor.
It’s a matter of making it robust enough to handle battery changes and curious owners.

Would then use a fixed end cap to avoid wire to switch connection being removable?

If the way HDS does it is patented then a new method to carry the signal would need to be devised.
It may require an “out of the box” solution like you’ve suggested and a departure from the standard screw-on tailcap.
It seems like getting that additional signal from the back to the front is one of the delays.
Perhaps a light with the driver in the rear?
Or maybe power control in the rear and a secondary board in the front to allow for heat sensing?
Or maybe the FW3A will deliver the goods and this is all moot.
That’s what I’m hoping.
I’m no rocket scientist though so take what I say with a grain of salt. Or two!

Yeah, you just need a strip basically… In a groove perhaps, to not reduce inner diameter.

Anyway, since this thread is all over the place while we’re waiting for news, just this thing:

Few pages back about tints and stuff, i now have to admit i can no longer pretend that i like the 219C 3000K and 2700K.
Too much green basically.
3500K is okay, i like the 4000K, have some 5000K and 5500K (i think) which are nice.

Tail switch, more ergonomic body design, nicer clip, regulated up to ~1000 lumens, fancier firmware. Also a bit lighter.

Yeah, i always hover over pics or anything that could be a link or whatever.
Or when i scroll up or down with the pointer in the middle of the page.

Tail switch, more ergonomic body design, nicer clip, regulated up to ~1000 lumens, fancier firmware. Also a bit lighter.

raccoon city’s signature has gradually changed over time. Usually it has been related to Resident Evil, in which there is a city called Raccoon City. Usually pictures of Alice from the movie series. Similarly, raccoon’s welcome-to-BLF posts usually feature a picture of the actress who played Alice.

I’m not sure when or why the sig pics changed to Halloween’s Michael Myers and Friday the 13th’s Jason.
