d_t_a I doubt the manufactured color has changed. How it looks to the eye or camera depends on the color of the surrounding light. I am going to guess your photo was taken near a daylight window or under cool florescent lights - a high kelvin number. The light bulbs in my house are 2,700 to 3,100K so it comes off looking a warmer tone. Outside at night, well, they all look black
I am liking this light and might pick up a few more for Xmas stocking stuffers.
The two I have definitely differ in color, regardless of the lighting.
The original one I received during summer is more brown, and captured fairly well in d_t_a’s picture.
The newer one is slightly darker, and the finish has a little more sheen to it, like a car coat that has more metallic flake in it. The picture above exaggerates the effect, but it does pop a bit more. It’s hard for my phone camera to capture, but the shot of the bezels give a better idea of the difference.
It’s not a huge difference, but I prefer the newer one.
The way the bezel is machined is also different. The bevel is larger and deeper, so the rim is slimmer. The Hot symbol is also shifted down a bit, though that could be due to variation (the Sofirn logo is also different, but I’m not sure if it’s intentional, with the “So” looking like a normal font, and the “firn” using a condensed version. The ® is gone altogether.)
We have send new inventory of silver sp32a v2.0 flashlight to amazon warehouse yesterday, it may take around 15 days shipping. When it is arrived, we will let you guys know.
Flashlight kit has enough inventory now, and inventory of Black, Gold, Silver light only is on the way to FBA warehouse. It seems UPS is slowed down. Any bad weather in LA?
