Ordered the SST20 4000k version just now.
What is the recommended battery for best brightness and runtime?
This is my first “serious” flashlight so I’m still a little green with how different drivers work and how much amps they draw.
Finally ordered a ff e07 with your code. I’ve been very happy with all my other fireflies lights so far, so couldn’t resist any longer. I’m liking the 21700 format.
same here. code for the FF site did not work. Ordered an bare aluminium Nichia 219b with blue aux emitters for the full price. I did not plan to buy another light today, lol.
Can anyone comment on battery choice for the 219B option E07? Is it still best to stay with a 10 A battery like the Samsung 50E as was recommended for the 219B version of the PL47 or do the extra emitters actually need a higher max Amp battery to get the best turbo output without overdriving the 219B’s?
2.5A per emitter is about the absolute max you’d ever want to drive a 219B (and even that is really pushing it IMO). I chose to run NCR18650Bs in my PL47 because just because a cell is rated for a continuous drain doesn’t mean that’s the max current a FET will pull from it as I understand things.
Thanks BurningPlayd0h! Since the Samsung 50E have a Max Continuous Discharge Current Rating of 9.8A, but the Manufacturer Rated Max Discharge Current (not continuous) is 14.7A, I guess I am safe at turbo for short durations on my E07. I will avoid turbo on my PL47/Samsung 50E combo and continue to look for a safer 21700. Don’t want those 219Bs to start going purple on me! In the meantime, I am trying to find those four - NCR18650Bs I bought a while ago… :person_facepalming:
