hi everybody, i am looking for a good single cr123a now. lumens and reasonable turbo mode time are most important things for me here.
so, what is the brightest single cr123a flashlight? or different batteries but in that size (like s1r ii olight that use custom batteries)
What light are you putting these in? Are you able to use Li-Ion batteries in the light? The S1R only uses it’s special battery so the internal charging works. You can still use any 16340/RCR123A it just won’t charge inside the light.
Well that is good then. There are some good choices for 16340, which is the same size as CR123A.
Shockli makes some great high discharge unprotected cells. Less than $4 a piece usually.
Efest also has good unprotected cells as well. About the same price.
Trustfire is a good protected cell as long as they are legit Trustfire’s. HKEquipment has real ones. Beware of Ebay.
I have also used Lumintop branded cells. They are protected and can be had for $10 for a pack of 4 on Amazon.
I have a few Imren cells as well that work as they should.
I only have one 16340 light that pumps out more than 500 Lumens and I use a Shockli in that light. It’s also a picky light and protected cells won’t fit in it. I have gotten away from 16340 lights except for a few. The run time is about the same as my AA lights and the AA lights fit in my pocket easier.
Shockli and Efest can be found on Mountain Electronics website.
Also check out the big three companies with legit batteries and great customer service. Illumn, IMR, and Liion.
The brightest 16340/CR123A light. Hmm….not real sure. I only have a few. A Sunwayman V11R, a FourSevens Mini MK II and a few weapon lights. Try checking out this website. It will list all the 16340 lights he has in his database and you can take a look at all of them and see what peaks your interest. He doesn’t sell the lights, he just list them for all of us crazy flashlight people.
I believe the On The Road M3 Pro will be one of the brightest (~1000 lumens) on a 16340, if we are talking about production lights and according to manufacturer’s specifications.
Hmm.
Thank’s for info on CR123 cells running hot and not for long.
I bought a torch recently, takes AAA. AA. and CR123.
Just to be nosey. It DOES work on all.
One of my G,Daughters has in her car dash.
But a CR 123 in this country at Jaycar, set me back $17.30
for one.
Would that 16340 be more viable??.
Not being so expensive, CR123 batteries (panasonic) cost more than 3€ and it is not very common to find them only in some “chinese” stores! Also, CR2 batteries are always above 2,50€ per unit. Considering the ability to be recharged, I opted for the 16340s from the beginning. Otherwise it would be a rent to use flashlights using those cells :money_mouth_face:
For sure Todd. I am getting out of CR123A lights completely for the very reason. BUT 2 key lights I want ONLY run CR123A so now I have to choose. Either buy lights and accept CR123A OR DO BUY. Lights are below
That EMP / Solar flare / Cyber hack, grid down scenario next week will have everyone wishing they had CR123A compatible lights. Not to mention the solar radiation is much less now due to the thick layer of aluminum, barium, strontium, lead, mercury and other heavy metals being sprayed daily by the metric tons in the USA alone for “geoengineering.” That means when the grid goes down you will be taking longer charging your batteries on a sunny day, while I will be bright as day running CR123 lights, albeit covertly unless needed.
I always like to have a light that takes CR123A cells exclusively, or can take CR123A and Li-ion also.
The only lights I have that do not fit this criteria in my small collection are my Olight X7 Marauder, Emisar D4, Surefire titan and Surefire Titan Plus. But those two Surefires can run on primary AAA cells. Once I get a few couple duel fuel Malkoffs and a couple Elzettas then I will not be as stuck on CR123A cells.
