I’d like some confirmation the bezel and driver will both be easy to remove in the production version. Lumintop has been known to add surprise glue and that would be a travesty for the FW3A.

I haven’t checked these forums in a while. Just caught up with the update on the first post. Decent timing on my part lol. I’m satisfied with the emitter choices. Looking forward to seeing more after the prototypes are received. Thanks for keeping this going guys!

Looks amazing, love the fact that everything is so well designed and being minimalist at the same time.

And all that’s left now is for Lumintop to produce it WITHOUT having their logo etched on the light.

I would rather have “FW3A”, “Fritz Works” or just plain finish like the prototype.

I was already in for one of these (#4289). I’d like to change my request to one of each emitter (two total). Thanks, and awesome project!

That looks positively stunning.

Please put me down for one (1) anodized with the LH351D 4000K 90CRI emitter.

From the OP….

Current status (2019-01-28): Production samples arrive tomorrow for testing/review. Production should start within days, if things go well.

  • Emitters are XP-L HI 3D (~4875K) and LH351D 4000K 90CRI (tint bin TBD).

I also think it’s strange that my “production” sample has a cool white (>5700K) emitter.

LOL, I have not noticed any chinese flashlight manufacturer that understands what a production sample is and why it should be made.

Wow! 100 posts on this thread since I checked it yesterday. Ughh

Nice review Maukka! Looks like Lumintop’s time spent going through different iterations to get this light just right has paid off. The light looks fantastic! Love

Hopefully, within a couple months we’ll all have our FW3As!!! Thumbs Up

It may have been asked before, but..
The two flashlights I’m signed up for, can I buy more than I signed up for, and an I buy a few of the other Emitter also?
Or do I have to buy only the ones I signed up for?
Thanks Thumbs Up

maukka, can you measure that MCPCB and make sure it’s the same width as all the other triple MCPCB’s?

I’m pretty chuffed lumintop are making this, I’m very happy with the build quality on Tool AA v2 and my EDC 01.

One question please, will all the XPL HI versions have a frosted flood lens?

Isn’t that output quite low? The D4 measures around 4300 lm with 4 XPL-His. My naive calculation would expect a 3 emitter light with XPL-His to be 4300/4*3 = 3225 lm.

maukka wrote:

-Max throw 7800cd or 177m

The D4 does 20kcd so I would expect this light to get to 15000kcd. Is the difference only the frosted optics?

Sorry if went wrong somewhere. I am not good with flashlight maths xD

@kanton, the FW3A doesn’t have the same extremely low resistance path such as the Emisar D4.

I’ve noticed since I’ve signed up that everyone has specified their emitter choice. I didn’t. For mine I’d like XP-L HI if that info is needed. I may also take a second in the LH351D option but for now just the 1 XP-L HI. Will I have the option to decide on the second light when they’re ready or to I need to sign up for both now?

Maybe one should explicitly mention that the flashlight is very short and only short unprotected 18650 batteries should be used with it. Or else something could be crushed trying to fit in a longer battery? That happened to me with another light. Almost damaged the driver board, barely saved it as I noticed the crushing sound.

Getting excited for this one, hate to ask but can you add an additional light for me? Think I need one in each flavor. I'm #1033 on the list.

Thanks!

I put in a request for one, but can I update that and ask for one of each emitter? I’m #1326 in the list.

Getting super excited about this. I checked in just a couple days ago, and my mind was blown by all the talk since I saw last!

Please add me for a 4th. I am on the list for 3 already.

1 is already going to be gifted and when another friend sees this he will want to purchase it for sure.

It’s looking great and I am getting excited again!
