Not to be a pain, but the Gallium I mentioned isn’t dangerous in and of itself. It’s just got an extremely low melting point as illustrated in the many youtube clips out there. Better think about better heat shedding properties or you’ll have a puddle of molten metal in your hands.

can we please stick to the fw3a talk only ? im close to unsubscribe since talking about other models i dont really see the point when the first light is not out yet. and new buyers will be lost in all off-topic talk when u get mail new posts and its nothing about the current model…

On the one hand, you’re totally right. On the other hand, this happens every year during CNY and it’s kind of unavoidable. That’s almost over though.
Neal is back to work and sending feedback to Lumintop, but I don’t know if they’re around to receive messages yet or do anything about it.
In other news, maukka sent me a nice pic of the FW3A next to a high-end HDS light. It’s the rotary model, I think. The HDS on the left is a 1×16340 light, while the FW3A on the right is a 1×18650 light:
I am not so active at the moment so I am wondering. Do I get a notification as soon as I can by one or do I have to check the tread on a regular basis?
People who asked for a light will get a PM with all the purchase details when the time comes.
@ Spiderlight… Jason is correct. Just be sure you have email notification for PM’s activated. Then you will get an email notification when you receive a PM.

I don’t know if this has already been asked, but is the clip reversible?

No it’s not
I was also hoping this was the case so it would clip on a cap.
Can the clip be modded to fit? What are the o.d. thread measurements of the front and rear?
Are there other clips that might fit?

Don’t give up just yet, I know some of the fw3a team were pushing lumintop to not glue anything, including the tail cap, which would mean it would come apart…
Lumintop has said they’ll be gluing it but hopefully the pushback will prevent that. We’ll learn what they did when the lights arrive.

It looks as though the front/rear thread o.d. is the probably the same, but if they did glue the tailcap that would permanently secure the clip and it could not be removed even if the user did not want it? I’d rather have the option to carry it in my pocket w/o the clip or be able to reverse it for a cap.

Clip dimensions from FW3A Proto 1:
Inner diameter: 23.1 mm
Outer diameter: 26.1 mm
Material: 0.8 mm
Length from bend inside to contact tube: 42.5 mm
I would like a back and forth clip, like on newer olights. It can’t be so hard to bend one
Will I be able to order the clear lense at the same time as the light? It would be quite a waste to pay $5 for shipping a $1 part separately.
Buy the clear and other lenses from MTN Electronics. His shipping for a small part like that will be less than $5, his shipping prices are very honest. Pick up some extra batteries while you are at it.
You will have to buy the optic separately. MTN is one place, and there is another mentioned earlier in this thread. I think it might be LED Supply. It is a few pages ago.
Please include FW3Be and FW3Mg.

Thanks. Too bad, but not a huge deal.
I don’t know if it still matters at this stage, but put me down for another one. This brings me to a total of 2 FW3A (one of each tint).
Really excited, can’t wait for it to launch!

I’m #1619 on the list, and I’d like to increase my allocation from one unit to two, please – one of each emitter.
I know, I know….but resistance is futile.
I was also hoping this was the case so it would clip on a cap.
Can the clip be modded to fit? What are the o.d. thread measurements of the front and rear?
Are there other clips that might fit?

Since it is so beautifully small, I was hoping to be able to clip it to a cap also, but apparently it won’t work with this one.

I’d rather have the option to carry it in my pocket w/o the clip or be able to reverse it for a cap.

Have we a thread about how to do DIY clips?
Clip dimensions from FW3A Proto 1:
Inner diameter: 23.1 mm
Outer diameter: 26.1 mm
Material: 0.8 mm
Length from bend inside to contact tube: 42.5 mm
I would like a back and forth clip, like on newer olights. It can’t be so hard to bend one
I’d like to get in line for one of these, with the XPL Hi emitters and clear 10507 lense.
I really like my D4, but am unlikely to ever learn to flash it with Anduril, so buying this seems like a good alternative.
It will only come with the frosted optic, but if you want to buy a clear one, they are cheap, and easy to replace.
You can also polish the frosted one. I have to go to work, and don’t have time to search, but this is also mentioned earlier in the thread.
No, the clip is not reversible. Not really, anyway. But it might be removable if the tail isn’t glued.
This is as close as it gets to being reversible:
It does not fit at the head end, and even if it did, inserting the clip between the head parts would interfere with the light’s operation.
