After reviewing it I decided to refine my “Rubicon” a bit. So I reprofiled the edge after adding a sharpening notch to the blade then I smoothed the edges of the backspacer and the G10 scales. I also chamfered the edges of the opening hole.
Are there any budget knives with bushing pivots? Like the Sebenza 21? A bushing pivot has an additional bushing that the pivot tightens against, instead of the blade. So you can tighten it without increasing friction in the pivot.
I’ve had the same issue but I was reading about it before I’ve bought it on the bay for $43
The trick is to keep your fingers away from the lockbar. That happens with some framelock folders, the SRM 9103/4 is such an example.
When the finger is out of the way mine flips like a dream, even better after I disassembled it and cleaned out the grease.
The biggest issue I have with it is the clip though, it should be closer to the back of the handle instead if laying over the framelock relief.
This way it’s a real seam catcher which makes it difficult to draw. I’ve sanded away a bit but afterwards I couldn’t get such a nice anodisation.
Maybe it will get a rock pattern someday, right after my SRM 813 has its carbon fiber scale
