FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

Well, if we could find a manufacturer…
You guys could have them cool lights too

I was asked about a production light and designed a little titanium & copper zoomie, never heard back though :))

I know it's a zoomie but it would be nice in my opinion, maybe could be made in a standard single/ triple format too.

Though thinking more about it now, I would probably make it an electronic switch :)

Thoughts welcome:

.

If it’s easy enough to convert to a triple, put me on the list CRX :innocent:

Very nice CRX. I always love a good zoomie!

And yes please on the electronic switch for it.

DO IT! I’M IN!

Hey team FW3A, I would like to please be put down for a 4th light. Thanks

I’d love to see a light manufactured that you were involved with designing, even a zoomie  Somebody not getting back to you sounds like a huge missed opportunity.

+1.

Though I can’t help but wonder why it needs so much driver space.

That’s supposed to be solid copper heatsink

FW3A optics expected to finally arrive next week as previously announced.

In the meantime, could anyone remind me what was that new great looking light some people are taking about?

An update from Neal: Optics are expected next week, and assembly should start very quickly. He’s planning to send some items for smoke testing to make sure nothing is broken, and then it sounds like actual production can happen. Emitters are XP-L HI 3D and SST-20 4000K.

An optimistic timeline puts launch at about 3 weeks, if everything goes as well as possible.

okay so its confirmed that samsung emitters are scrapped and sst20 instead correct ?

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…

???

I’m not sure if it’s scrapped or just delayed.

okay TK, guess i and all others that wanted the samsung will have to wait then…

Thanks TK. Any indication of SST tint bin?

Can’t way to try the firmware!

My D4 with SST and SC64LE with Samsung emitters are similar in actual use. Trade-off: Samsung is prettier, SST has better throw.

No indication yet. “SST20 4000K 95CRI” is the extent of the details I’ve heard.

I’m glad to hear about the SST-20, both because it should avoid further delays with a high-CRI option, and because I think it’s a better beam shape for most use cases than the LH351D in a triple (though I’m quite fond of the latter in a reflector).

Now… how many of these do I need?
