Bummer
Conversely, I’d love to order the floody option and swap the center 6 for spot optics to get a hybrid beam.
I’d love a shorty 18350 tube for this light!
I’d love a 26350 tube for the D4S!
I have a few soda-can lights. For most purposes I find them too large and too heavy, but I still find them useful for photography and lantern purposes. They’re good at providing fill light, when bounced off large surfaces. Also handy on a tripod. Or for lantern purposes, I’ll often put one on candle mode for several hours at a time. I keep a Q8 next to my bed and use the candle mode timer so I can see for a while but it turns itself off shortly after I go to sleep. Candle mode works well during a bath, too.
I recently bought a Q8, but wasn’t aware of a timed candle mode. Is this a modification you’ve done?

Toykeeper reflashed her Q8 with Anduril.
The Q8 is one of the easiest Anduril flashes you can do, next to the D4S. I recommend looking it up and getting the <$10 worth of AliExpress parts to do the job. Super rewarding.

And I am still laughing.
Any new information on the 18350 shorty tube? I neeeed it haha.
Also replacement optics for sale anywhere? Do we know what are in this thing?
Can I request to add individual floody optics with my order? Are they easily swapped?
I got my TK style D18 last night. I was worried that it wouldn’t be floody enough to replace my M43 but the beam pattern is pretty similar. The amount of light this thing puts out is impressive.
Got mine yesterday as well, it is smaller than I thought it was based on the photos, another great Emisar!
Can a cr123 shorty tube be made? I want it!
Recieved my D18vn today, I can barely get it to work I have to screw the head on so tight! I’m using button top HG2’s. Iv’e also tried button top 30q’s with the same problem.
Also looks like it has a spring bypass… don’t know if that is factory? if its not so you think its keeping the springs from compressing enough?

Have you talked to vinh? He normally does that to support the higher power demands that a spring simply cannot do. He’s done this to a few of my vn lights.
I was able to spend a couple minutes and check things out. Looks like too much solder on springs and they cannot compress. Bummer. Emailing him now. Hopefully we figure something out.
I stopped doing spring bypasses on my lights after I got my shipment of low-resistance Be-Cu springs.
I just realize one of the batteries was a Sofirn 2200mah and not the VTC5D. I remeasured using 3x VTC5D and got 12,400 lumens at 1s. Better but still less than what I expected.
I measured my XP-L HI 4000k at 10,600 lumens at 1s with my TA lumen sphere calibrated with Maukka lights using VTC5D fresh off the charger. A bit disappointed with the output since the 7-emitter E07 makes 7,000 lumens at 1s, but the tint is very nice. The top of ramp is set the same as turbo so double click from off takes it directly to turbo. Typical Anduril lights sets the top of ramp at about 50% or so of turbo.
Does anyone else have the XP-L Hi version? I’m curious is the XP-L HI version dimmer than the SST-20 version. My M43 with XP-L HI 5D was 1,000 lumens lower than the XP-G2 5D version.

That’s pretty good. You are getting number close to ANSI.

Lumens at 1s are Ahh! and all, but are not really relevant and no one uses that measurement. I think we’d all like to see something more realistic once the output settles a bit. Maybe 15 to 30 seconds or maybe Turn on and 20 seconds so we see how it drops.
