Comes with a Sofirn 2800 mAh 18650 battery and USB charging cable. Haven't measured the capacity of the battery yet.
The body and tailcap are milled thin - which is good, I guess, to minimize weight
Threads are square but somewhat shallow and scratchy. But the slight scratchiness was eliminated with a little silicone lubricant
Simple click to turn On or Off. Has mode memory, so it comes up in the last used mode.
UI consist of five normal light levels (Low = 70 lm), Med1 = 120 lm, Med2 = 300 lm, High = 600 lm, and Turbo = 1200 lm and two blinky modes (Strobe and Beacon).
After the light is on, hold the button down to step in this sequence: Low, Med1, Med2, High, Turbo.
The 1200 lumen claim for Turbo seems legitimate.
Double click from any mode (including Off) to enter Strobe. Double click again to enter a beacon mode with @ 3 - 4 sec flash rate. Double click takes you back to strobe. Single click take you back to Med2 in the normal UI..
The beam is very cool white and seems to have a tinge of blue in the center.
So far I like it. I think it will work great for bicycle riding and general outdoor use.
The discount code only works for a single purchase, otherwise I would have purchased more as gifts.
Also purchase a Q8 diffuser which will take about a month to arrive from China.
Thanks Barry for providing this discount code! I really appreciate Sofirn's participation in BLF!
Edit: Many people on BLF, including me, do not participate in Facebook. It would be nice if Sofirn's Private Group was hosted somewhere else. Thanks.
Hey Barry, sorry those fantastic offers are US only. But those things happen, I understand.
There is one thing: I do not remember the content of every thread I ever open.
Please be so kind as to include the words “(AMZ US ONLY)” into the title of this thread.
That way I won’t be disappointed (again), when I click on this thread (again).
I just clicked through a MS1 Kit.
Ships to Budapest, Hungary.
Accepts the discount code.
Of course, I haven1t clicked on the final order button, but it looks like it can be shipped to the EU. I don’t know what can be different to the Netherlands, if you can’t order anything.
At least, it is true to part of the items. BLF Q8 Driver Chip does not ship to Hungary
Installed… and uninstalled 5min later. Useless. It’s using an AIM-7 to swat a fly. And it didn’t even work for a simple page (local) where I wanted to momentarily enable js client-side.
I just want a simple on/off switch for js just like PrefBar had. Slider, checkbox, I really don’t care. Just the about:config crap but in a nice simple accessible switch.
Any ideas?
Those idiot so-called “developers” who pulled that option from the menus should all go die in a fire. Alt-TOJ was all it took before (tools/options/javascript). Now??
If they would just make the browser work instead of prettying it up with cutesy visual effects, maybe it wouldn’t be such a steaming heap.
Wondering if anyone else is having issues with AX.
