That’s within spec, which is 4.15v - 4.25v.
All my chargers have slightly different termination voltages. I prefer the ones that terminate a little under 4.20v, but some terminate higher. It won’t damage the cells, but you’ll get maybe 10% less cycles from them. You’ll also get a bit more capacity out of them, though probably only 1% - 2%.
My Xtar X4 terminates around 4.18v. So, I don’t think Xtar is designing chargers to terminate high. It’s just the random variance in the chips that all companies use.
I think my next charger will be the SkyRC MC3000, because you can set the termination voltage to whatever you want.
Hmm, wondering if anyone’d want to try one of these for custom termination-voltage settings…
It actually looks pretty good for that, as long as it’s consistent.
Apologies for hijacking the thread…
This C4-12 version 2. Does anyone have a link on amazon (I’m in the USA) for this charger?
What about this:
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Charger-Rechargeable-Batteries-Universal/dp/B07GZRBRGX/ref=sr_1_3?crid=98EGZRY1TYSI&keywords=miboxer+c4-12&qid=1557938777&s=electronics&sprefix=C4-12+miboxer%2Celectronics%2C188&sr=1-3-catcorr
From my cursory search, seems the C8 is not a discharge unit, only a charge unit? Is the C4-12 V2 an “analyzer” the charger like the opus 3100?

As was mentioned a few posts back, it’s not on Amazon yet.
Correct.
No.

I use the sky rc now for most of my charging needs.

At BLF we have our own custom lights…but no a custom charger.
I agree there is not a single one that could do it all.
I would gladly buy such product. Maybe we could talk with manufacturers to produce it?…

That is an appealing idea Agro. :+1: I would be in for one too.
Besides finding a manufactor to do it, the biggest problem I see is us at BLF agreeing on which features to include on it.
There is only one feature we SHOULD include:
Being able to change the end charge voltage from 3,9-4,2V for lithium-ion cells.
That would make for the absolute best charger.

BLF SKYRC MC3000.
Sounds nice, but I don’t know if that would be very “budget” friendly.
What about XTAR or Opus for the BLF edition? Can we get the Vape folks on board? BLF/ECF Edition?

A SkyRC like charger would be cool. But if it has all the bells & whistles have them seperate from basic manually set function options.

OP wanted something easy to use. Is SkyRC easy to use?

Nope… not for me it isn’t. :person_facepalming:
That is why I said “SkyRC like” … big, robust, charge at least 3A x 4 bays, discharge at least 2A x 4 bays, active cooling that works, manual settings, easy & straight forward to use.
I would just as soon have no bells & whistles… but that’s just me.
Why not a BLF Miboxer C4-12?
Miboxer has been quite responsive on BLF.
A good Miboxer C4-12 with a BLF style UI and settable charge voltage cutoff would make for a dope charger.

OP already made his choice back in post #19 ……
EcuBebge:
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and suggestions.
Based on your recommendations, and further reviews of the chargers you’ve recommended, I’ve decided to go with the MiBOXER C4 or some variation thereof.

I don’t care who makes it as long as it has what I want on it & is simple/straight forward to operate.

People seem to want a boatload of features/configurability, yet they want it simple to use. How do you marry the two in a single device?

I have no idea, I am not one of those people. I want one simple, basic features I already mentioned, & straight forward.
