FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX FT03S SFH55 9300lm & FT03 SFT40 2200lm 1300m NarsilM v1.3 USB-C - ALIVE

There are power concerns with the 50.2 in 6/12 volt. They tend to burn up instantly with FET drivers. Even when used with little 18350 cells. Sometimes it takes a while.

The new 3 volt version is quite different. People are using FET drivers with very big high drain cells and they are surviving just fine.

This 3v version came out after the FT03 was already designed so I have no clue what Astrolux’s plans are.

Thanks, it looks legit, but you never know if Astrolux will change their mind. I think using the 3v 50.2 is the smarter move compared to using the 70.2. It can use the same driver and mcpcb so the only cost increase is due to the led itself.

I didn’t see it until recently, but freeme’s got it HERE and claims it’s on the way.

Good to hear from someone with the 5700K, so thanks.

We don’t know the specs or configuration on the FT03 70.2, but it doesn’t have the mass to sustain high output from that emitter and only has one cell. The driver is a mystery. Though bulkier, the SP70 has a more suitable head, can be had for ~$50 with a code (I’ve read), and will be more powerful than the FT03 70.2.

I guarantee that the Sofirn body is thicker and nicer than the Astrolux and has smooth, square threads to boot. The FT03 will be smaller and lighter, of course. I have the SST40 version and love it, but it feels every bit a budget light. The FT03 will fit in a (large) coat pocket and suits my needs very well (I need to penetrate mist/fog), but I was jealous once I saw the SP70 beamshots.

Also, there’s a BLF SP70 in the works, so…

I don’t hate the 70.2, but it’s a very large surface for a relatively small-headed thrower.

My 5700K order got back ordered. :frowning:

They first stopped selling 5000k , now 5700k. Surprisingly no other seller selling these.

the light seems out of stock on all tints now…

Keep in mind that Astrolux is Banggoods house brand. I doubt they would allow any of their competitors to sell it.

I think there is a Mateminco version, isn’t there? It’s basically the same light but rebranded for the China market and usually sold on Aliexpress or maybe Taobao. I forget. Maybe someone remembers more.

Edit, old post below:

And now it’s shipped… Not sure what happened there.

User Pearlriver is saying the 70.2 version is cancelled (or maybe set aside for now) and they are going to make a 50.2 version instead.

6000 lumens on xhp50.2 ? wow

That number is likely impossible from a single XHP50.2. I think they are trying to compare the candela only?

okay hehe… how high can u drive this emitter then ? They shouldnt drive it too hard since this host isnt all that beefy to handle that more heat.

placed order now on the 5700tint, will be fun.

About 4300lm.

No. They are showing 4300 after a second or two, but that is probably a bit high. Plus we don’t know what battery is used. Figure double the lumens of the SST40. 1800lm and 3600lm at 30 seconds. Something like that.

The candela looks about right, from 203kcd to 133kcd. People will need to test it out to be sure.

Ah its a video or GIF i didn’t notice. Realistically maybe around 3300-4000 lumens max depending on the battery used and also depending on the binning and tint of the XHP50.2. Using a 26650 or 21700 will help give good results for a short period.
I can’t seem to get more than 3400 lumens from a 18650 cell using a XHP50.2

thats still good.

Any working coupon for $29.99 price ?

Are there still coupons available? I accidentally expressed my interest in the wrong thread (XHP50.2), but would like the SST40 version.

i think so, just ask here and freeme will send you pm if there is still valid codes.

Freeme, can you hear me?

I noticed that one reviewer posted a discount code for 25% off - but this deal would save me another £4. Since I’m rather cash-strapped right now I’m happy about every penny that I can save.
