I received my 2 Vapcell 10440 batteries and although I can not do real tests, I compared runtime/output on my Maratac copper AAA hotrod. Well, I tried but quite screwed it up. I did the first runtime with an old Efest cell but let it run for 4 minutes without checking temperature. After 4 minutes without thinking I tried to twist it off with the following result:
Yes you can recognise the Maratac knurling in that blister.
After that, a ledwire had unsoldered itself from the ledboard (that one was never soldered very pretty because of a too short wire I must confess) and a dark spot appeared on top of the led dome, so I needed to repair the flashlight (provisionally resolder the wire and scraping off the black bits off the led dome) before starting the second test with the Vapcell 10440. So much for the clean comparison
Then after 100 seconds into the Vapcell test, the same ledwire decided to unsolder itself again from the ledboard. The Maratac needs some decent re-doing everything now but here’s the data that I managed to gather. Take it with a grain of salt, also because a new cell is compared to a cell that is 3 years old already but I think that the Vapcell really is the better performer despite all that.
I can do a mAh test on my Opus still, but thusfar Vapcell’s ratings have been decent.
Received my 14500 cells the other day, sadly it doesn’t work in the Eagtac but does in the Reylight. Oh well, I’ll keep using the efest cells in the Eagtac.
Runtime is much longer that the 800mah efests I have. Very pleased with these.
Curious, when I open the item via the “item link” vapcell Dennis submitted (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970825706.html) the ad works, but when I use https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/-/1084158_33000300196.html it doesn't. Suffice to say I block location, I am using an “outdated” browser (this is what “a few months old” software is considered now) and I hate all those links full of tracking shit and other crap. I also refuse to use CRapplications.
Right now every time I go to a store in AliExpress I see this with sickly frequency:
I dont have those lights, so I cant check… this is just a guess:
probably the button on the Vapcell is shorter than on the Efest
and if the D3a has a raised ring around a positive contact button in the head, (physical anti reverse polarity), the battery + cant reach the + contact in the D3a head…
Im guessing the Reylight either uses a spring at the positive contact, and or does not have the raised ring.
a pic of the inside of the two lights heads, and of the two batteries standing side by side showing the height of the buttons, might shed some light on the issue.
bingo! the positive on the ET head is recessed, the positive on the ReyLight is raised
a small magnet on the Vapcell might solve the issue with the ET recessed + button…
but caution! we dont want the magnet to short the positive contact to the ring, if it is ground…
