The GREY. Is one of Neesons best. Specially the end.
This new one with him as a snowplough driver is good too.
I’ve just watched it.
And the best Conan was the first in Arnies Series
Not these modern ones.
when he barely spoke English Nor acted.
Not that the acting has improved much hey.
I hadn’t seen it in a very long time. Just re-watched it last year and was amazed at how much I still enjoyed it. Although bias probably helped, as I really enjoyed it as a kid and had a super crush on Sandal Bergman. James Earl Jones really made that movie, too. It aged well, because of minimal reliance on CGI and great quality pyrotechnic effects. It felt “real.” The second movie was fun for different reasons, partly because of Grace Jones — she was a hoot. Arnie’s acting had gotten a little better too. But CGI… was miserable. Especially the sorcerer’s castle scene. Terrible lighting, the worst in the boat crossing. I’ve long wondered if that movie would ever be remastered with updated CGI.
I can really recommend to you guys the movie "Runaway Train" with Jon Voight in one of his best roles ever. It's a quite old movie but still thrilling without using this CGI stuff. I can also recommend the great soundtrack.
If you want to watch the full movie, it's on youtube...
Absolutely, especially the quip about the “old style 8088” in the ag-bot when it was the top-of-the-line µP in the peecee at the time (think only the DEC Rainbow had an 8086).
Floaters are now drones. Ag robots are also ground-based drones roaming the fields without hyu-mons inside. Now “co-bots” (collaborative robots) is the “in” thing. Robotic sentries exist (but are egg-shaped and unarmed). The military has self-guided projectiles fired form rifles. And Gene Simmons is still alive.
I knew back when it came out that it was prescient, ’though the exact timeline was up for grabs.
Hmm, think I got that as a two-fer on a dvd with D’Onofrio’s “Taking of Pelham 1-2-3”, but don’t recall watching it yet.
Did rewatch “Den Skyldige” (“The Guilty”) again… great flick. If you liked “Locke” you’d love DS. In Danish, so had to grab the subs, but it’s an hournahalf of realtime drama which all takes place in pretty much one room.
Oh! “Suicide Kings”. Dark comedy, emphasis on dark. Great little flick, but avoid the “happy” alternate endings if you got the dvd, as they’ll ruin it.
Lots of older choices that bring back good memories. How about something newer? One of my current favs is “Ready Player One” it’s like a walk through my youth and teen years.
