Yes, itās ture that we will extend our holiday for 1 week. Coronavirus situation is making us nervous but still in control, People in China are being advised to stay at home.
We buy many commodities from online stores. The thread title is misleading, not true. The coronavirus can survive in the air less than 2 days.
I will be getting a package from China in a few days. Right now we are at the 10 day mark since it was mailed. It is 90 miles from me, probably get it Wednesday.
I wanted to make sure I COULD NOT get it if one the the people from Banggood who handled the package, had the virus.
Just remember the ancillary discovery from all this kerfuffle: handwashing with soap for 20 seconds is not a regular habit in China.
Supplying hand soap in bathrooms is said to be not a common practice.
So we can rely on the odds being good that at least wiping off any product from China, say with dilute alcohol hand cleaner, is at least not a bad idea.
Not because of short-lived viruses, which will expire. Because of whatās technically called āother guckā that might still be present.

āThe common coldā has two āendsā to it - thereās the one where you get a few sniffles (rhinovirus) and the one where itās almost influenza symptoms, aches and pains, etc (coronavirus). Thatās what is it, a bad cold. If you are immunocompromised you might be in some trouble, but if youāre otherwise healthy, itāll suck but youāll be okay most likely.
If youāve ever legitimately had Influeza B and survived, you know what itās like - 2 days in bed feeling like absolute hell, in a lot of muscular pain - Coronavirus isnāt as bad as this.
Outside of a host (body, etc), Iād give it 24 hours at absolute max survival.

I donāt particularly want to get it, but if I do, I know Iāll be off work for a little and thatās it. Iāve survived Influenza B when I was in worse health than I am now, so Iāve got no real worries about this.
If you take care of yourself , eat good food , overdose of vitamins when you get flu, in good health , you should be ok

Touch wood Iāve not had a bad cold or flu for a few years , I think Iāve got a nice immune system. Intend to take double or triple the vitamin daily allowance when I had glue or feel like Iām getting flu ,
Donāt get me wrong Iāve proberly had flu in the last few years but I handle it well , still goto work , and carry on as normal , but with good rest ,good food , good vitamins and saunas !
Like a few others have said , I think the paid media are blowing it up , big phama companyās will be lapping it up right now , expect corona virus flu meds in the next 2 weeks !
And for people without (small) children of their own: stay away from those walking Petri dishes.
If we count the thousands of infections( reported by the media), the relationship with mortality itās not very high.But influence is easily transmitted,

Iād touch a light from China today with no hesitations. The thing is hygiene - wash your hands properly before eating anything or putting them near your mouth and itās sorted.
Damn straight.
