My Jetbeam Rotary (I have the Original) had also taken up permanent residence in my EDC pocket, since I got it a few months ago. I say “had”, because my RRT-01 got bumped out of my pocket, by the Jetbeam Ti(unobtanium) Rotary. Both are LED modded to N219b 4500k.
Nice review. I have been very tempted (at times) to pick up this light. The picture in the middle of the page of the RRT01, D4 18350, and S1R cinched the deal. I won’t be buying it any time soon, at least not for $80. My D4 18350 is my EDC, and its noticeably smaller, brighter, and more functionality. I still think the RRT01 is a cool light, but I have learned using my D4 I prefer a stepped interface, rather than infinitely variable.
All that said, I’ll keep reading about the RRT01, and if I end up finding a deal I can’t resist, then I may just have to grab one up.
yes, the 2020 version has a tailswitch, and battery adapters.
It has been announced, but I have not seen it for sale yet… you are not late to the party
the 2019 version is the version this review thread is about. It does not have a tailswitch (I prefer no tailswitch)… , uses CR123, 16340, and 18350. No adapters required.
Jetbeam sold me a spare part for a different light. All it took was to email them (info at jetbeamlight.com) and to pay the invoice. My contact was very knowledgeable.
If the new battery tube fits the old 2019 head, I’ll order it.
I wonder if the slots around the tail cap on 2020 version are large enough for tritium vials. Interesting light as I’d the switch. Did the older models offer Nichia 219C as well as this one?
pic (not to scale) is a link to more info on the 3 versions of RRT-01
no one has the 2020 model in hand yet, so we dont know the size of the lanyard slots… to my eye, they look larger than a 1.5 x 6mm tritium, pure speculation…
the 2020 is the first to offer 219c, and tailswitch
Wish I had one. Really not happy I couldn’t get one at an (to me) affordable price. Guess this won’t change anytime soon. Fingers crossed the 2020 is somewhere between both in dia.
